Traditional Korean vegan comfort food - Edit
I visited this restaurant in both summer and winter. In summer they only sell kongguksu, and it's a great place to go if you like konguksu or want to try it. The soybean broth is nutty and very creamy and the noodles are nice and chewy.
Read moreIt is deliberately bland when served and you need to add sugar and salt. The kongguksu is served without egg so you don't need to worry when ordering. You can help yourself to side dishes. The kimchi is not vegan but the radish and chillis are.
In winter I tried the red bean noodles. Again, you need to add sugar/salt to taste. They were very warm and comforting, and bland but somehow tasty, like porridge.
Pros: You don't need to ask for anything to be left out, Central location, Filling and comforting good for cold and hot days
Cons: Short opening hours (closes at 3pm), Canteen atmosphere
