Serves meat; vegan options available. Mensa of the University. Always has at least one vegetarian/vegan choice (menu at least 50% veggie). Dishes or buffet. Everyone can eat there with a guest card - you just pay a bit more but it's still affordable. Tries to produce little waste and use food from local suppliers. According to PETA it is the vegan-friendliest canteen in Germany. Open Mon-Fri 11:30-14:00, 17:30-19:30, Sat 11:30-13:30. Closed Sat, Sun. Please check ahead for evening hours as they are subject to change.

Since I started studying in Freiburg in 2018, the Mensa went from offering one vegetarian /vegan meal a day to always offering several different vegetarian / vegan options. Meat dishes are even in the minority now! I can always find something I enjoy eating.

Read moreYou can not find cheaper, tastier, more vegan food if you tried. Like I usually don't bother eating out because I can make better vegan food for cheaper but I couldn't do either in this case! I'm talking a huge portion the best food ever, cafeteria or not, for less than three Euro. Like HUHHH
Health food vegan? You're covered. Junk food vegan? Covered. Not even vegan? Who cares? The meals are deeelish.

The food is really good, my friends from other university are always amazed:D You pay less than 3 euros for a dish plus salad, what else do you need to be happy? They always have a vegan option and vegetarian options and if that still doesn't sound good, there's the buffet you can go to. The dishes are thoughtful and creative, sometimes they even do bowls or burger. I love this place so much 🥲
