Options galore - Edit
Don't go whilst hangry but go for options galore. The service was so slow and inefficient during lunch. They served a whole group of 6 (they ate and left) before they served us (only two people) even though we arrived and ordered before them.
Read moreIt had some good options for building your own pizzas but it was confusing with whether cheese counted as a topping (it does. The server gave us the wrong info). They offer vegan cheese, tempeh, tofu, loads of veggies as toppings. It was easy to build a fully vegan pizza but I wish they denoted each option with whether it was vegan or not.
The pizza itself was good. Great flavorful and chewy dough.
I'd be back but not when I'm quite as hungry.

Their vegan cheese pizza is so good. Better than regular pizza if you ask me. The waitress was also very knowledgeable. I asked for vegan pizza and immediately said she would tell the kitchen no butter, dairy free crust, etc. Very helpful.

they have an awesome beer selection and nice staff, but the vegan value is abysmal. ordered double tofu on a salad after learning they have no vegan bread options for a sandwich. a third order of tofu later i was still shy of a half block. I'd go broke eating here.

The Best Vegan Pizza In Charlotte - Edit
There are few vegan options in Charlotte when it comes to pizza. However, I first discovered Mellow Mushroom when I went to Asheville & didn't know that there was a couple of them in Charlotte. The service & options are so awesome. Love this place.

Same as the Ballantyne place, they got me a daiya-cheese vegetarian pizza which tasted really good.

The whole family loves pizza so we tried Mellow Mushroom for my birthday this year. The variety of toppings was awesome and allowed for the omnivores in the family to be happy while I had a multitude of choices for my pizza including not one but at least 3 tofu/flavored tofu options. Even my two year old was loving it while he enjoyed the bright mushroom filled decorations. Their soft pretzels were tasty although in this case slighty overcooked. And to top it all off, they had a decent craft beer selection althoug i would have liked to see them support more of the awesome local breweries. Overall a fantastic meal and I will definently be going back there.
