Great, vegan options and mostly knowledgeable staff - Edit
On this most recent trip, our server was clearly knowledgeable about their vegan options. We told her that on our last trip, the server confirmed that the cheese on our salad was vegan, but it in fact wasn’t. I got violently ill that night. This server took the time to explain that the only vegan cheese they have is feta and mozzarella, and not the Parmesan that was on that salad during our previous visit. This time, we had their temporary offering called Miss Mushroom. We also got that garden salad with feta. Both were delicious. If you’d like a soft, thick crust, their pizzas are great.

Our waitress El was so polite and accommodating. The food was really good. I would love if they would add more plant base and tofu options to the menu.

The best vegan pizza! - Edit
So vegan friendly! My waitress was able to rattle off many vegan options and even let me know about a secret menu item - the “Thai Dye” pizza made vegan. It was SO good - they use follow your heart cheese, curry marinated tofu, Thai chili oil, basil, and fresh veggies. The pizza dough is amazing. Also got the pretzels with salt and marinara sauce for an appetizer. The ambience was cool too! Will definitely be coming back!

This pizza was delicious! I got the vegan with gluten free crust. I love that they use “follow your heart” vegan cheese. One of the best for pizza! Also loved that the crust was perfectly crispy !

The vegan hoogie with tempeh was to die for! The fact they use follow your heart cheese was a pleasant surprise, because we really hate daiya. They do not have vegan mayo, & their “meat” options are tofu or tempeh ! The pizza was good, tempeh seasoning used in our pizza wasn’t our favorite but the marinara sauce and pizza base (dough) was delicious!

Fantastic pizza place! Interesting decor with stained glass windows and chandeliers everywhere - looks like the inside of a medieval church in a way.
Read moreDelicious pizza with tons of vegan options. They have tofu and tempeh along with tons of veggie toppings. You can have the proteins marinated in one of a few sauces: jerk, bbq, and a few others. The tempeh is a great consistency as a pizza topping and works well with the jerk sauce! They don't even charge extra for vegan cheese which is so rare. They use Follow Your Heart cheese and it works great - so melty!
They've also got a ton of local beers and a few ciders on tap. Bartender was super nice and helpful - we sat in the bar area to eat as otherwise it was a 30 minute wait for the restaurant (Saturday night so understandable).
They also have subs and are happy to veganize them, so we'll be back to try those.
Highly recommend! I'd give 5 stars if I could.

Mega Veggie Pizza is to DIE FOR - Edit
I've only ate at Mellow Mushroom once (so far!), and this was for a carryout pizza. I had the Mega Veggie veganized, and it was AWESOME!! Highly recommend this place, if you're in the Greensboro area.

Great Pizza - Edit
Now that I know Mellow Mushroom has Daiya vegan cheese, it's a regular stop for my friends and I. We love the atmosphere, the beer on tap, and the pizza is unbelievable. The staff is knowledgable and able to conform to any vegan requests. I highly recommend.

I always loved Mellow Mushroom but am so happy they offer Daiya Vegan cheese now. Lots of veggies and protein choices to chose from- worth the visit.
