Online Vegan Menu - Edit
So this is a weird review to write because I have not loved Mellow Mushroom in the past, but my last visit did just clue me in on some major pros for vegans. It was still a mixed bag.
Read moreSo the biggest plus was their full vegan menu with some great options - including the vegan tempeh hoagie with daiya cheese I ordered. Weirdly, this menu is only on the website. It’s not available printed in person or on delivery apps. I was still able to order anything from that menu and they were ready to make it.
Combined with vegan salads and pizzas, Mellow Mushroom has a lot of great options for vegan diners. I much preferred the hoagie to their pizza.
Other big pros about this location was a ton of great Alice in Wonderland theming, an outdoor patio, bar seating, and plenty of parking including designated curbside pickup spots.
On the other hand, service was slow and disorganized. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, but I needed to ask for refills and extra napkins. The waitstaff was really great about hooking me up with the vegan options even without a menu. The side for the hoagie is plain or bbq chips. The chips are from Miss Vickie’s - so the bbq flavor is not vegan. They allowed me to exchange them though. I don’t think the complaints about service was to the level of other reviews on here, but it wasn’t a highlight of the restaurant.
Overall, Mellow Mushroom in Brookhaven is a great choice to accommodate multiple diets and give vegan diners more substantial offerings than most pizza places.

Love Mellow Mushroom, this location this night was terrible - Edit
While in town for work, I was so excited to have a mellow mushroom restaurant close, as I've had their vegan options at other locations and love them. This location on this night was terrible though. at least 7 employees were standing around the register, chatting, flirting and more. I came up to put in a carryout order, said as much, and the young man looked at me and said, "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention". I asked for a menu, said I'm vegan so I want to make sure I order the vegan salad and pizza. Ordered a Vegan Veg Out and an Enlightened Salad. I waited for over 30 minutes (while the young man who took my order was eating his salad at the cash register and making faces with his food at a young female coworker) and finally heard my name called. She showed me my pizza and it *LOOKED* like the Veg out, but I noticed something that looked like cheese on my salad. I thought oh, maybe they used vegan cheese, but when I got back to my hotel room, both salad and pizza had dairy cheese on them, which I can't eat because of both being vegan and having a legitimate dairy allergy. Watch out for this location!!

Broken link in the chain! - Edit
Kate the barkeep was in a flailing rush for my visit! No "hello how are you". Order fail from the kitchen and when she asked to tab out her shift she became the end of the bar loudmouth rude cursing "patron"...still serving herself from the taps and talking about buying "buds" from her ex that is a dealer!!!! FAIL!!!
