The most delicious breakfast buns on Earth. Melanie is a gifted pastry chef as well as a delightful person. Her creations at Magdalena's Cafe were my daughter's go-to all the way from Oakland, and now that Melanie bakes from her home kitchen in Petaluma, I'm opening the dietary sweetness restriction for Melanie and very few others. I can't wait for an occasion to order her carrot cake! And I won't wait long even if I'm the only one to eat it.

I met Melanie when she was the main baker at the now sadly closed Magdalena's in Petaluma. Her baking has only gotten better. This time, I ordered a vanilla cake for my friend's birthday. Amazing. Best vegan cake I've ever had, better by far than the non-vegan options I've had as well. 10/10, will continue ordering.

These are the kinds of pastries all vegan pastries should aspire to be. The maple scone had the perfect blend of crumbly, nutty scone to sweet frosting. The cardamom roll is a triumph--chewy, layered, sweet, flavorful. The cherry poptart was possibly the most surprising. The center is a beautiful cherry preserve that is not too sweet at all and really lets the fruit's natural flavor speak for itself, while the almond frosting is very sweet but also very almond-y, giving it this perfect balance with itself as well as with the cherries and the pastry. (Also it's excessively cute. It has little star sprinkles!)

I’m so happy that Melanie’s Sweet Treats is fully vegan. Otherwise, I’d really wonder if the pies I got for Christmas were a non-vegans order by mistake. I ordered a blueberry, and a pumpkin, and I’m not exaggerating when I say they were probably the best pies I’ve ever had in my life! Perfect texture throughout, crust just right, flavor excellent. My family plowed through those pies so fast I wished I had ordered 2 more. I’m looking forward to working my way through her entire menu of sweet treats!
