fresh and fast - Edit

The cafe is in very centre of Lisbon. Very nice waiter and fresh food. The dishes are quite simple but very tasty. We also got very exotic himalay tee. if you can, come after 18 30, then for 9 euro you can eat as much as you can. We paed 6,90 for one hot meal and 3 salads for choise. We did enjoy the meal!
there are also some very delicious desserts.

Pros: central, fresh, nice atmosphere

A Reasonable Veggie Option - Edit

We are a vegetarian family and generally struggle to find suitable food on holiday. This was one of the veggie restaurants we had found on our pre holiday internet search and we had lunch here. For 6 or 7 euros each (can't quite remember) we had a hot dish and a choice of three salads/vegetables- not the most inspiring selection but fresh and quite tasty. We had freshly squeezed juice drinks but these were quite expensive compared to the food and a bit bland. The man serving was very patient with our lack of Portuguese, helpful and friendly. The restaurant itself was more of a small self service cafe with tables very close together. We would eat there again when next in Lisbon but not somewhere to rave about.

Pros: Friendly staff, Healthy food

Cons: Tables tightly squeezed in, Fresh juice drinks expensive & bland

Happy Vegetarian and Vegan Soulfood! - Edit

I spend a lot of time at the Quinta Perfuma Astanga Vinyasa retreat in Oleiros (thanks Peter and Sue!) and always pass through Lisbon. This time, I decided to research the vegetarian restaurants in the city, so that next time I can easily get to the good food. There are six vegetarian restaurants in Lisbon, and I have reviewed them all. I think it's fair to say, though, that Mega Vega is my favourite. Unlike Terra it doesn't have an outside area, but my word, they make up for it in ambience and quality of food. I can't remember the name of the guy who runs the place, but he is probably the sweetest and friendliest person I have met, like, ever. He let me sit in there from 9am (they open at 8.30am) until 1pm just reading the wide selection of veggie cook books (in Portuguse AND English) listening to the awesome world music he was selecting for me, and watching him and his team prepare works of art from scratch in the kitchen. I started with a soya late and vegan walnut and maple syrup pastry. It was beyond delicious. I moved on to a Himalayan tea (exclusive to MegaVega, I can't remember exactly what was in it, but it was gorgeous and it came in a massive tea pot). For lunch, I had two main warm dishes (vegetarian creamy saffron tofu and mushroom, and vegan brussels sprouts and red cabbage cheesey bake) and three cold salad/pulse dishes. I literally almost cried at how delicious it was. I left there, and headed to the airport, feeling on top of cloud 9. Please, please go there. It's easy to get to, cheap, and even tastier than Terra, if you can believe it!

Pros: quality of food, fresh decor, super lovely staff

Cons: no outside space

Cool place in downtown - Edit

Located in the downtown of Lisbon, nicely decorated and with a pleasant ambiance. Nice food, but not the best in town nor the cheapest. I enjoyed coming there at 5 pm and being able to have an early dinner while all other places were still closed or just serving tea. A nice collection of vegetarian and alternative medicines books and magazines to read while drinking a natural juice.

Pros: Location, Ambiance, Food

Cons: Price

good restaurant - Edit

This restaurant is in a central location. They don't have much place to sit down so you probably should avoid peak hours. They have a menu at 9.50€ that include a main course (with three side dishes), a fresh juice, a dessert and a coffee. The food was good but I would have love bigger serving...

Pros: location

Cons: space
