Amazing dishes - Edit
Meat the vegans with a wide range of dishes from different regions.
Read moreThis multi cuisine fully vegan restaurant has some decent Indian dishes as well as Jamaican, American and more
Highly recommend the Jamaican chicken and this biscoff cheesecake
So worth it! Love the crumbs and texture and it’s not too sweet which is great.
As a starter I had their vegan chicken Korean style which was nice and spicy and full of garlic (a bit burnt garlic though)
The plantain chips were amazing - first time I had them. As a main I had their Jamaican chicken! So flavourful and a lovely dish with a huge portion. Definitely a great restaurant I can highly recommend for any time of the day. Great location
Pros: Cheesecake , Jamaican

I would give 5 stars for the Eight Treasure Fried Rice.. its a good level of spicy and really tasty, love the flavours each bite brings.
Read moreThe vegan quesadilla was ok, but not my favourite.. that would receive a 3, as I was not a fan.
The vegan jaffa cake was absolutely a dream, its sweet and moist and all the different layers work wonderfully together!

Thankful it’s all vegan but weird vibe - Edit
A large menu and lots of choices. We had the nachos which were good, then the special fried rice. To me, it was just rice whatever was left in the fridge (nuts, assorted vegan meats, lots of onion, pomegranate seeds?). The server also made us scan a QR code at the end to rate them - which seemed quite methodical and pressured, hence why their reviews are so high. Overall, not a terrible meal, and loved how it was all vegan, but wouldn’t be back.

Scratching my head - Edit
I went here because I was staying locally and it had a very good rating but I'm scratching my head at the rating for this place. I had a really good read of the menu and it just seemed a mish mash of dishes from around the world, Indian, Thai, Mexican etc. As I was about to order I was asked if I'd like a surprise dish, they couldn't tell me what it was but if I didn't like it I could have my money back. This is a red flag for "we have loads of stuff prepped that hasn't sold and we need to shift it before it goes to the bin", told them no and ordered Green Papaya Salad and a Tofu Quesadilla. The salad was ok, clearly pre prepped but it was reasonably tasty, I'd barely got through 2/3 of it and the quesadilla arrived. Now if they're busy I get it but there was only one other table occupied. The quesadilla was a travesty, full of peas and carrots with the odd kidney bean, fried tofu and vegan cheese. The pea and carrot mix was an odd choice for a quesadilla and probably a generic mix used to fill many dishes, no spices or any other flavours I could pick up, beige with a capital B and as far away from genuine Mexican cuisine as can be. Salsa was akin to Old El Paso brand. I think if they actually concentrated on doing several things very well, rather than a menu that ambles around different cuisines it might be better. The only upside was that the server was quite pleasant 😊. Honestly 3/10, won't ever make the effort to revisit.

Finally Found It – And Glad We Did - Edit
I really wanted to visit m’eat the vegans, but finding it was an adventure in itself. The restaurant is located in or near Camden Market, inside a huge area full of stalls, shops, and food spots. Maps wasn’t very helpful, it was extremely crowded, and we almost gave up. As a last try, we asked a security staff member who gave us very specific directions (back entrance, right, then left past the Amy Winehouse statue) and thankfully, we finally found it. Once you know where it is, it’s easy, but getting there the first time can be stressful.
Read moreAfter all that, a drink was needed: I had a Maaza mango juice and my companion a piña colada. I really wanted to eat fish and chips at least once while in England, so seeing a vegan version on the menu made the decision easy. Otherwise, I would have been completely overwhelmed - the menu is huge, ranging from Mexican and American to Middle Eastern and Indian dishes. Normally that’s a bit of a red flag for me, but at least what we ordered was done really well.
The fish and chips were beautifully plated, the “fish” was exactly how I imagined it, the fries were crispy, and even though I usually don’t like tartar sauce, this one was surprisingly good. The mushy peas rounded everything out nicely and added a different touch. My companion had the butter chick’n tikka masala with rice, which was also well seasoned and very enjoyable.
The staff were friendly, and overall I’m glad we didn’t give up looking for it. I think I’d need to come back and try more dishes from the menu to fully judge it, but this visit definitely left a good impression.

Took the pad thai with (vegan) chicken. Good taste but a lot of sauce and not that many vegetables. My friend took the fries with cheesy sauce and veggies, was very good (but a bit spicy)!

I liked that they had a variety of cuisines. We got takeaway and ordered a few things so we could have dinner and lunch the next day. The samosa chaat and fried plantain were standouts, but I loved everything!

Great introduction into Caribbean food - Edit
I hadn’t really tried Caribbean food before, but Meat the Vegans completely impressed me. The jerk chicken salad was stunning, and the plantain with bean sauce was packed with flavour. We also shared the pan-fried gyoza, which was equally tasty. Even my non-vegan friend was impressed. I’m very eager to try more of this cuisine - so thank you Meat the Vegans for the introduction

Authentic Thai Taste with Excellent Vegan Options - Edit
The papaya salad was amazing, just like the one I had in Thailand. I also tried fish and chips for the first time, and it was vegan! The staff were incredibly friendly. My boyfriend couldn’t decide what to order, so we went with the waitress’s recommendation, and it turned out to be the best fried rice I’ve ever had. We wanted to try the spicy wings too, but we were already too full. Highly recommend!

Amazing food - Edit
Massive menu with food from all over the world. We ordered curry goat (which was amazing) and a chicken stew (which was lovely but a bit too spicy for me) both served with a portion of rice, beans and plantain. Massive portion for a good price! The ambiance of the restaurant is a bit odd we were the only ones eating on a Friday night - I think it’s mainly delivery orders. Staff were kind! Only complaint is there’s no toilet in the restaurant (but there’s a public one for £1 around the corner)

Didn’t like the food - Edit
I tried two different dishes and
Read more1. The portions were TINY
2. They rely WAY too much on making the food spicy instead of actually making it taste good with actual seasoning.
Spice is not a substitute for seasoning!
I had the tofu tacos with and they were disgusting. Peas and carrots don’t belong in tacos.
I won’t return to Meat the Vegans ever again.

Just okay - Edit
Had been looking forward to trying this place after all the good reviews. I went with a friend and we shared the chickn satay starter. The peanut sauce was the highlight. My friend ordered the hotdog, which she enjoyed and I had the fish and chips which was disappointing. I'm a big fan of Unity Diner's fish n chips and this just didnt compare. Service was slow, and no one seemed very happy. Based on this experience I wouldn't go again.

Not that good. - Edit
We were visiting London, and we were quite hungry. Meat the Vegans was one of the most well rated restaurants, so it was like a no brainer.
Read moreWe didn't really like it. I had an orange juice that came from a generic brand of juice you can get at the supermarket (they poured it in front of me, back in the kitchen). Paying 3,50 for something that isn't homemade...
I had a fish and chips plate. The fries were alright, but the "fish" tasted off and I didn't finish it. The tartar sauce that came with it tasted industrial, and I suspect the mushy peas weren't homemade either - although they had no taste. Like I just felt matter in my mouth, but really no taste at all, not even salt, which was... surprising!
My husband got a burger and the patty also tasted like something you buy from the store.
I'm honestly very disappointed and I don't think I'll be back. I also want to point out that I don't remember seeing the chefs washing their hands. I should have trusted my gut feeling when I saw the giant quantity of different meals that are available.

Strange place - Edit
Such a strange place, the food was good but the whole vibe of the place was off. Manager was constantly shouting at the staff in her language, bartender drunk the last of a customers cocktail out of the shaker, I could go on. The worst thing was I never saw any member of staff wash their hands at any point, including the kitchen staff. Given they were coming in and out of the restaurant for some reason, they should be cleaning their hands but they never did. Watching the person handling your food cough all over their hands and go straight back to serving was definitely gross. And they had an open kitchen so you could watch them do all of this! Surely if you have an open kitchen you have to be really hot on the hygiene, not just blatantly ignore it.

Brilliant Menu , with lots to choose from - Edit
Loved that there was such a large menu to choose from , with lots of different cuisines. There was three of us who went for the meal and we shared fries , the chipotle corn and onion rings. Then we all had three different mains that we tried a bit of one person had the garlic chickn wings and they were superb! So crispy and tasted a lot like garlic bread. Another person had the fish and chips , which again was brilliant. I had the chicken 65 and it was perfectly flavoured and tasted amazing. We had a strawberry milkshake to go, which was so good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend. We all look forward to visiting again. 🙂 💚

Junk Vegan heaven! - Edit
So many choices on this menu that aren't veg based.
Read moreWe got a plate of Mac and Cheese (my comfort food) and the Butter Chicken Tikka Masala. The curry was honestly the best vegan curry I have had. The sauce was smooth (aside a couple of pomegranates that were easily removable).

Hard to decide what to get - Edit
They have so many good options, it’s very hard to decide what to get.
Read moreWe ended up with the Tofu tikka masala with rice and naan, as well as the pad Thai. The tikka masala was a little to spice for me. But everything tastes great.
As it is near Camden market, the area was very crowded on a Sunday.
But I Would definitely come back, to try something else. But maybe on a weekday, when it might be less crowded.
Also, don’t have a restroom. You can use the public bathrooms around the corner (£1).
