Outstanding vegan burger

Typically, the mcmenamins experience is frustrating with wrong orders, wrong items on the bill, crappy service and long waits, but today I was actually super impressed with my lunch from John Barleycorns.
I had one of the only vegan items on the menu, but everything about it was perfect.
Shout-out to Deanne for being an awesome waitress.

No Options

We chose this restaurant because it was the first to populate Happy Cow (it was close by and we were strapped for time). They only have 3 vegan options on their menu, period. We ordered the hummus platter and each had a Mystic 18 burger. The burger was good and the sauces were nice. I had fries and my husband took the side salad which was only tiny. I’m giving 3 stars because there’s not much to eat. And the service was competent, but indifferent.

This can work

This isn’t one of the very cool McMenamin’s but is a good meeting place for a mixed diet group. Staff has been friendly and capable. Wish there were more items on the menu but certainly can find something vegan to order.
