So delicious!

Best meal I’ve had in awhile! All of the staff (including owner) were very friendly and everything I ordered was very delicious. Sat in the back patio area, very serene and private.

Pros: Delicious and fresh food, Friendly staff, Good vibes

My kind of place

The vibe of this adorable restaurant is what first caught my eye. Located by the LA River and notable mostly for light industry and abandoned factories, Mazal stands out. It is urban and chic, funky and sophisticated and, most importantly, the food is wonderful. The best hummus I've ever had. Great salads. Puffy warm pita. It is my favorite kind of food and my favorite way to eat. Bonus: the wine list is stellar.

Pros: Food, Vibe, Wine list

Cons: parking is tricky.

Great food, tons of vegan options

Bright, welcoming atmosphere. Food is delicious and the majority of the menu is either vegan or can be made vegan. This is a great spot for a date night or getting dinner and drinks with a group of friends.

A rare find!!

I have been looking for a place on my way to a ball game at dodgers stadium, easy off the 110 fwy made a wrong turn and voila , i find this place recently opened . a Mediterranean vegetarian cousin . wow .
Definitely NOT another falafel stand, the place has a unique vibe with string lighting and soft music in the back patio like a middle eastern alley .
We sat outside on ohhh what a nice real hole in the wall .sandwiched between a marijuana joint and a factory / the fire department yard.
The waiter told us in advance that kitchen is overwhelmed and the food comes as it is being prepared .and oh wow , pita bread so hot and fluffy we had to let it cool and hummus oh soooo good. they have other spreads like spicy carrots and beets oh we also tried the pita w zaatar ,mine was crunchy yum. then we ordered:

Cuscus with steamed veggies - delish
Jerusalem bagel- a must
Air fried broccoli - to die for.
we ordered the beyond meet item i think they call it borekas - awesome vegan dish
After downing a bottle of moroccan wine (who knew)we had no room for desert but the waiter said its a unique home made halva cake ( what????)
so we took it to go and finished it on our way to the ball game ;)
go there you will not regret. you may find me there ordering other stuff i missed on my 1st visit.
it looks like from other online sites that this place is run by one family .
it shows!

This is exceptional

I have to say first of all that as a 28 yr vegan, Mediterranean food is my favorite after American salad fare. It broke my heart when ELF closed during the pandemic - the only veg Mediterranean place in all of LA. Well Mazala opened in Nov 2020 and it’s veg with oodles of clearly labeled vegan and dare I say I like it even more! Mazala is Israeli food and you won’t find rice. You will find genuinely unique and creative vegetable dishes unrealized at other restaurants. The link be cooks are literally in a line and you watch them prep. All food comes out so piping hot, fresh steaming, moist. The pita alone is worth the trip! The wine selection is notable, there are four beers and hard kombucha in tap. I had the non-alcoholic beer and it was outstanding btw. I have a Happy Cow rule that a restaurant that serves dairy can get no more than four stars from me so that’s the only reason it’s not five. Great energy. Clean, new space. Hamsas everywhere. Huge outdoor and indoor dinging in a part of town you don’t think of for foot traffic to say the least. Across from the LAFD and around the corner from a dispensary but warehouses otherwise. Okay def go and enjoy the food!
