Delicious local food

I was staying at Mayoka Village for three months for a youth program and all the food they made for us students was vegetarian and mostly vegan, but when they made something non-vegan, they made a vegan option for me as well which was very nice! The food is really delicious, tasty and of course most of it is local and bought at the market in town. Rice, beans, chickpeas, vegetables, fruits, salads, homemade bread, pancakes, pizza, burgers, pies, falafels, hummus, vegan cake and many more. They also rarely use processed food. If you’re vegan just ask the very sweet chefs and they will most likely make vegan options for you.

Lots of choice, great food

I absolutely love this place. Unfortunately we were not staying here, but we went a couple of times for lunch, dinner and breakfast. The staff is so nice and they know exactly what the difference is between vegan and vegetarian. We had the veggie burger, Mayoka salad, wraps and special dinner and all the food was always fresh, filling and very tasty. It's some of the best food we've had in Malawi. Also, they have a vegan banana and chocolate popsticle. Yay! And the vegan granola bar is really good too. A place you can't miss when in Nkhata Bay!

Pros: Lots of choice, Vegan ice cream!!!, Fresh and tastu

Cons: Bit pricy for Malawian standards, They also serve meat and fish
