Delicious!

This was my first visit there, so I took SacVeganista's advice - great recommendations. Started with the Bodemjan Kashkeh (smoked eggplant dip) appetizer with yogurt on the side. Vegan and nonvegans loved this! Nice smoky flavor, it's not baba ganoush, it has different spices and tomato? Joey come

The Maydoon Bowl with falafel and green sauce was absolutely fantastic. The falafel was one of the best that I've had, and all the veggies and rice in the dish are so flavorful.

Server/service was also excellent! Knowledgeable, friendly, efficient.😊

Pros: Fabulous food! Very tasty!, Excellent service

Cons: Few vegan options

Delicious vegan Persian food options

From a vegan perspective, Maydoon has the best Persian food in Sacramento by far and puts a modern twist on some of the classics.

For an appetizer/shareable the Kashkeh Bodemjan (smoked eggplant dip) is a must. A lot of Persian restaurants incorporate the yogurt into the dip, but Maydoon only uses it as a topping and can make it fully dairy-free on request.

The falafel is straight up fantastic and the rice is perfection, which makes the Maydoon Bowl my go-to entree (order it with the green sauce for dressing).

There are also several salad options and the usual suspects of appetizers (hummus, dolmeh, pickled veggies).

On occasion they will rotate in a vegan special so check their social media.

Pros: Maydoon Bowl with Falafel & green sauce, Kashkeh Bodemjan made dairy-free, Albaloo Surprise (pomegranate cocktail)

Cons: Needs more vegan options!, Needs a vegan versian of their signature dressing
