Lovely place, good food - Edit
Went to Maya on a Tuesday, without reservation. We got a nice table downstairs. Very friendly staff. There is a separate vegan menu but almost everything can be made plant-based. Our company of 3, me being the only vegan, had 6 dishes of which 3 were plant-based. The Katsu cauliflower steak, Mayan mash and patatas Bravas were excellent, as was the Chocolate chili dessert.

Cons: Too much , The not plant based dishes 🤨

Great taste, authentic style - Edit
Would have given 5 stars if it were possible. Has an extra fully vegan menu and many diahes of the regular menu can be made vegan as well. Delicious food, best Guacamole I've eaten in a restaurant in Europe. Advise: order 2-3 plates per person

Maya is Magic! A Sizzling Introduction to Latin American Cuisine in Southsea - Edit
Maya in Southsea? Count me in as a certified member of the Maya fan club after my first visit. I brought along two non-vegan buddies, and what a revelation – dual menus for both green eaters and carnivores. It's like they've cracked the code for dining diplomacy with friends on diverse dietary expeditions.
Read moreNow, let's talk about the staff – the unsung heroes of any good meal. Attentive and accommodating, good vibes all round. And the cocktails? I threw caution to the wind with a Pink Negroni, and it could have just been the Game of Thrones viral moment that swayed me, but who's judging? It was delicious! 🍹
Enter the Guacamole, a perfect 10/10 spectacle. I seriously contemplated ditching the etiquette and spooning it straight from the bowl. But hold up, those tortilla chips were strong – crunchy troopers holding their own against my guac excavation.
For the main course, I indulged in a trio of tapas – Katsu Cauliflower Steak, Garlic Quesadillas, and the Patatas Bravas. Brace yourself for the Katsu – a perfect harmony of panko crunch meeting quinoa rebellion, creating an unmatched texture and flavor combo. Even my meat-loving mates pledged allegiance, vowing to betray their usual carnivorous cravings for this veggie marvel. Pro tip: Three dishes are the sweet spot for one, but go for four if you're feeling extra hungry. Trust me, it's the magic number!
Patatas Bravas? A golden, crispy symphony with layers that rival a Hasselback potato, delivering flavour in each bite. Now, let's dive into the Garlic Quesadillas. The vegan cheese in these gems was like no other, whispering sweet nothings as it melted to perfection amid all that garlicky goodness. The only hiccup? I'm on a mission now – I need to uncover the secret behind this vegan cheese wizardry because I need it in my own kitchen arsenal.
Dessert took a rain check this time, but mark my words, next visit, I'm diving headfirst into the sweet abyss. Maya, you've secured a spot in my heart (and stomach) as a Southsea dinner deity. Already scheming for the next feast! 🌮✨

Outstanding! - Edit
We ate here for my son's birthday yesterday, service was great with a lovely friendly waitress, the food was delicious South American style tapas. There was plenty to choose from on the Vegan menu and to top it all off the cocktails were amazing.
