Good vegan food - Edit
We had very delicious cabbage rolls with a tasty sauce. They were great. The pad thai and the khao soy we had were also good. Everything was very fresh. The food was offered for a good price.

Fave May’s restaurant - Edit
This is my favorite May’s restaurant, food was good (unlike in NYC, and sadly the BKK venue is also changing for the worse). love pretty much everything in the menu, but especially the curries and the banana flower salad!

Delicious banana flower salad - Edit
Another fantastic vegan experience in Chiang Mai. Thank you for recommending the banana flower salad, it was delicious. I can also recommend the panang Curry although a bit spicy. The mint&lime juice was very refreshing.

Nice place - Edit
Serves some pretty nice food. The veggie spring rolls and the steamed veggies were very nice, and the sauces that come with them were amazing.
Read moreThe mango sticky rice was below par - the mango tasted like it has gone off, or was cut on the same board as durian.
All-in-all very decent food for an affordable price. However if you are trying to avoid too much oil in the diet, you might be limited on the options.
Pros: Veggie rolls, sauces, affordable
Cons: Too much fried stuff

Great Curries and Cooking Class - Edit
We split the seafood curry and the Khao Sow curries. Both were great. Signed up for the cooking class in a couple days and can’t wait to be able to make their dishes ourselves when we get home.
Read moreUpdate: the cooking class was the best we’ve done in Asia so far. Did the half day class that had 14 recipes in a nice little booklet you can make notes in and keep. You can easily make everything at home that you learn.

Amazing cooking class - Edit
Did a cooking class here for 1300 TBH and it was amazing, deffo worth the money. Nim was so helpful, friendly and patient and the dishes are all so delicious so it’s good to know how to make them! You get to take the recipe book home with you and also the leftovers from the class that you don’t eat. Deffo worth the money.

Vegan backpacker - Edit
Out this world, truly amazed at how much we loved these dishes. Had the spring rolls with peanut sauce, the "stream noodles" w/green curry and peanut sauce, a rice soup and the veg"seafood" curry. Blown away by the amount of veggies in these dishes alone much less the flavor. The homemade peanut sauce for the flat noodles was amazing! The flavor of the miso curry was so good. This place is a diamond in the rough of Chiang Mai hands down. The price point for the portions is better than anywhere else. Again, we were simply so excited to see broccoli and cauliflower in all of these dishes period, just made it over the top. Do yourself a favor and come here early in your stay I'm sure it won't be your last visit.

Delicious food - Edit
Had really good fried rice and a good pineapple juice. The place looked like it was closed or just about to open when I got there. The staff was really good and took care of getting me something to eat. The restaurant is located a bit away from the main road but worth going to.

A lovely little oasis away from the busy old town, some great vegan options, though not as extensive as the Bangkok branch. Banana smoothies here are a must!

Excellent food, amazing cooking class! - Edit
We've eaten at the Bangkok and Chiang Mai locations, and the food is exceptional! Amazing flavors, deep rich curry, perfect sticky rice, it's just a great experience every time. We went to the half-day cooking class, and got to make and eat 10 different vegan dishes! I was so full, but it was all so good I couldn't stop eating. A must visit in Chiang Mai, and if you have the time, get in the kitchen!

One of my favourite restaurants ever - Edit
Have tried most things on the menu, and never been disappointed. I think the food here is fantastic and the portions are good also. It’s small and quiet, and I would disagree with any comment that labels this as a negative. I find it hard to not visit at least once a day, and would recommend it to anyone who told me they were going to Chiang Mai. I also done the cooking class here and our teacher was really kind and pleasant.

Great food & cooking classes - Edit
We really enjoyed the food. So much that we did a cooking class, we cooked about 8 different dishes plus one dessert and we got all the recipes in a book. So if you like Thai food (of course vegan/vegetarian) and want to continue to cook it at home - I recommend the cooking class.

Great prices and food - Edit
This is a fantastic place to drop by for a quick lunch or dinner. I had the “fish” cakes (tofu, veggies, and chili). Very spicy and satisfying. Also the veggie fried rice which was the most beautiful and fresh veggie friend rice I’ve had. Lots of delicious veggies, and tofu (which wasn’t listed on the menu but was very welcome). Will definitely return.

May Kaidee deserves every good review it has received. Huge menu, it's so hard to pick. Everything we tried was delicious, affordable and full of flavour. Staff were friendly and helpful - ordering in English was easy. If you're a veggo in Chiang Mai, get yourself to May Kaidee stat!

Inexpensive and good quality Thai food! - Edit
This is the original May Kaidee's restaurant with her in command. I tried the Bangkok and Koh Tao locations before with a great experience each time. Thus, I had high expectations from this place but was a bit disappointed by some dishes and the unwelcoming atmosphere, even if it remains a very good place in Chiang Mai.
Read moreMost food is really tasty (particularly the fresh spring rolls and the tom yum soup), with plenty of delicate flavors. Some others are less satisfying, like the papaya salad that was not spicy or the pumpkin hummus that was a bit bland, despite a very good sauce.
Portions were generous, it's very inexpensive and the service was quick. If we need to point out negative points: it is not 100% vegan and the restaurant is not particularly pleasant. But I will come back with pleasure to try the other dishes of the menu.
