Amazing cheap veggie food

Wonderful place to eat. We went because of the good recommendations on here and it didn’t disappoint. Amazing variety and so cheap (around 80 baht per dish so about £2!) we bought the restaurants cook book it was so tasty😄Near to Ko San Road but far enough away to be peaceful. We will be returning.

Pros: Vegan options - lots , Cheap

Cons: No air con so very hot!

Lovely Food!

Nice, homely place. The vegan “fish” sandwich was awesome with these potato chip/crisps. Cheap prices - under £10 for two big breakfasts and drinks (tea, coffee, X2 orange juices and a lime juice!)

Pros: Does cooking classes too , Mainly vegan

Must go

Very delicious food and friendly staff. I had the Pad Khing with a fresh coconut to drink. My husband had the Pad Thai and a housemade tea. The restaurant itself looks very nice! We can really recommend it!

Pros: Good vegan options, Nice location , Good value for money

Very Delicious

We’ve just been here to enjoy our first meal in Bangkok. Most of the options in the menu are vegan.
My wife had the Pad Khing with a fresh Coconut to drink. I had the Pad Thai with the homemade ginger-pome tea to drink.
Everything was just perfect and very delicious. The prices where also great (about 270 Baht for everything).
The location looks very great and there was an English menu available. The staff also spoke English.

There are also cooking classes offered.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, The taste, Good value for money

Great, cheap Thai food and cooking course!

The food here is seriously incredible and for a sit in restaurant it's super cheap at 80 baht for a main! Ordered the Tom Kha Soup and the Pad Thai which were both absolutely delicious! Also did the express Thai cooking course with my (omni) parents and we all had a great time, learned a lot and had some tasty food. Will definitely come back to sample some more dishes and try the Saturday buffet.

Great restaurant

This is a nice restaurant with plenty of options to choose from with a reasonable price. The food was tasty both times we went there. We loved that they have cooking classes, unfortunately we didn't have time to participate.

Good food! Authentic place

I've been coming here, and keep coming back for some time now. The food is very good, Saturday's buffet can fill you for the week-end and gives you a chance to try many dishes.
But true as some reviews say, service could be a little more... Well they seem a bit jaded at times (which in a way is understandable considering the massive flow of tourists consumers going around... So that could be a reason, and I'd understand). Anyway I usually feel welcome there and I give it a five stars. Authentic good vegetarian Thai food. Authentic people too 😉🌸

Amazing food !

Hands down the best vegan food near Khao San Road. It may look simple in comparison to the more fancy vegetarian/vegan restaurants on the same street but when it comes to taste and authenticity, it's unbeatable. It's also a lot cheaper. I would go to Bangkok over and over, just to visit May kaidee. We also took a vegan cooking class at their school and it was worth it !

Pros: Tastiest vegan food in bgkk, Cheap

Hmm....

The food is good but not up to my expectation.
But they have one of the best spicy condiments.
I will still visit this place and recommend it to others.

Pros: friendly staff, Good food

Cons: No AC

Great Little Place

Several of the other reviews mentioned that the staff were rude, so I was a bit skeptical! This place has either hired new people or the people there have become friendlier. They were all very friendly, especially one of them. The food was delicious! It’s definitely worth a visit!

Great option in Bangkok

Cozy restaurant with many different options. Loved the fruit shake and the appetizers. Staff is not very friendly and sometimes is not easy to communicate in English with them.

Best option around

Food seems decent, but all of the staff was pretty depressing (except for one). Regardless I’d opt to eat here instead of Mango based on the use of egg in “vegan” dishes, and rude treatment of customers that I witnessed at Mango. Give May Kaidee a shot!

Great food -- Depressing staff

The last couple of times I've been here the guy taking orders and bringing the food made it pretty clear that he had no interest in even pretending he cared. about the niceties of service in a restaurant. Other customers were also commenting on this.Pretty much why I avoid all backpacker tourist areas.

May, are you reading this? How about a little pep talk for your employees.

However, as always, the food was great!

So friendly and fresh!

We went for dinner yesterday evening and had some really delicious food - fresh green papaya salad, pad Thai, tom yum soup, green aubergine. It was lovely helpful service and fully vegan too. The food was so well priced too, very cheap! Following that, we decided to do the cooking class the next day and it was so fun! Learnt a lot about Thai spices and ate a lot of coconut milk!! I would fully recommend the cooking class but make sure you arrive very hungry and don’t eat breakfast! There’s a lot of food!

Pros: Loads of options , Cheap, Delicious

Cons: None!

Fantastic and cheap

May Kaidee’s restaurant is so good! It was our first meal here in Bangkok and not only was it filling and delicious but it was also cheap. Don’t expect luxury insides as it is very bare minimum but it’s the kind of place where you wouldn’t care because you’re enjoying the food too much. There’s also a cooking class you can pay for which is really worth the money. We made lots of dishes on the menu and got to eat them too. Highly recommend!!

Pros: Delicious food, Cheap, Big portions

Cons: None. It was amazing.

Tasty, inexpensive vegan thai food

Chilly little cafe/restaurant with very friendly staff and fast serve.

You must try the mango sticky rice which in my opinion is the best in whole bangkok!!!

I can recommend the buffet on saturdays for 150 Baht too- high quality, good variety, very tasty and as much as you can eat!

Pros: Fresh ingredients, Healthy food choices

Cons: A little more expensive than bangkok standards

A reference in Bangkok

May Kaidee's restaurant is kind of an institution in Bangkok. I had high expectations and was not disappointed. The food is really tasty, with plenty of delicate flavors. I had fried tofu in tempura (good), a kind of mushroom laab with rice (very good) and a red curry (very good too). Portions were generous and the service was quick. The place is pleasant and you feel like home. The only negative point is that it is not 100% vegan since it serves some eggs. But I will come back with pleasure to try other dishes of this large menu.

Pros: very good food, pleasant place, large menu, generous portions

Cons: not 100% vegan
