Tasty vegan options, reasonable prices

I had a Mexican Buddha Bowl and it was so good. They also serve smoothie bowls , coffee, tea, blended drinks with plant milk option.

Pros: Tasty food, Reasonable prices

Cons: Blended drinks with creamer and condensed milk

Ok

Came here twice. The first time our meals came out 40 minutes apart. I had finished my breakfast long before my partners dish came out. It is run by a lady who can’t smile. The second time we came back just for a drink as we ended up right next to it our our day out. I had a bag of fruit in my hand that I had just got from the market and the owner was unpleasant and shook her head. The staff all seem quite miserable - I think because of the lady who runs it. Wouldn’t recommend purely based on the atmosphere.

A bit of a mess

Flavour was good but the sandwich was not as it appeared in the menu, and unfortunately the bread they’ve chosen ends up making a huge mess of the sandwich.

Lots of vegan options

Their breakfast menu has an extensive vegan section with tofu scramble, smoothie bowls, and buddha bowls and their evening menu has salads and typical Thai food (although you need to request it to be made vegan).

New menu; new review!

I DO recommend May and Marks as a viable vegan option in Krabi - especially since it is so haphazard to figure out what is still open after/during covid (helpful hint: if there hasn't been a review on Happy Cow within 6 months it probably and sadly doesn't exist anymore). The food here was fresh and hot and the presentation is great. This is such a flip/flop from my previous review just a week ago as the new menu has many more vegan options and the taste and flavor was amazing. I stand by the first part of my review as I prefer to support veg exclusive places but times be tough post/during/covid. The portions are on the small side (so I got two!) and prices reflect the atmosphere and presentation. You won't be disappointed if you venture here.

Confusing menu, food was okay

Found the labelling a bit inconsistent which made the menu confusing. Stuck with the options on the ‘vegan bowls’ page just to be safe. Food was pretty good, loved the chocolate in the granola bowl.

Pros: Granola bowl tasty

Cons: Inconsistent labelling, Expensive compared to others in the area

Nice overall

I ate here 4 times over the course of 2 days and tried a few dishes. The staff are super friendly and sweet, and the vibe is nice and relaxed.

These were my thoughts on the things I ate/drank:

- Latte with soya milk - very nice coffee (medium roast). One of the best coffees I've had probably
- Spaghetti with vegetables - underwhelming. Watery sauce and lacking flavour (the sauce did not mix well with the spaghetti so it tasted a bit bland)
- Avocado/hummus toast - very tasty. Perfectly ripe avocados and the hummus was very good (rare in Thailand)
- Mexican bowl - excellent. Half way through I mixed the bowl but regretted it - you're best off keeping the ingredients separate to appreciate the individual flavours more
- Tofu/mex burger - since the buns are not vegan it had to come on a slice of toasted brown bread (same as the avocado on toast meal). I think that ruins the dish as you can't possible eat it like a burger and have to use a fork and knife. The bread was too hard to enjoy it. The flavour overall was too subtle and could have had more seasoning/spices.

The beer is reasonably priced (get a big bottle and share it instead of 2 small ones).

Pros: Overall nice food and great coffee, Super friendly staff

Cons: Expensive overall, Some dishes are poor

Great food & coffee, a bit pricey

Somewhat pricey but excellent food and coffee. Thai and Mexican food options as well as vegetarian/vegan sandwiches and burgers. There is a huge coffee menu with options for almond and soy milk (you pay an additional 20 baht for those). Labeled vegan options. Ask for no fish sauce when ordering the Thai food.

Pros: Great coffee menu, Varied menu

Cons: Expensive

Very good arranged place with friendly service. We ate here 2 times and we will come back. Very delicious and beautifully prepared dishes for every time of the day. The drinks are awesome.

Pros: Very big range: thai-european-mexican cuisine!

Cons: A bit expensive for Thailand

Delicious!

This restaurant has something for everyone! The BBQ Buddha Bowl was delicious and I live the variety of different choices! Definitely a gem in Krabi, really the only place in town with good Western vegan options

Good Vegan/vegetarian options

I first visited May&Mark in 2000. I was delighted to see that now they have an additional location and many, many more options for vegans/ vegetarians. I especially liked their ‘create your own’ breakfast. Their raisin walnut bread is fantastic! Friendly service. Highly recommended.

Pros: Vegan/vegetarian options, Fresh food, Great homemade bread

Cons: A bit expensive but worth it for the quality

Buddha bowl was spot on!

Really good sized portion, had the bbq buddha bowl and did not use sauce as it came on side and tasted so good without, left very full up. Which was just as well as the cakes looked naughty but nice 👌

Pros: Big portion, Great taste, Nice staff

Cons: On the expensive side, pay for what you get

Not as fresh like it seemed

Got there for breakfast with a friend. Ordered fresh Apple juice. Recieved 200ml of apple juice from a package. Very dissapointed. My friend ordered a yoghurt with granola and fruits. Ended up being watermelon for fruits which made the yoghurt all watery. Not the best breakfast We’ve had.. the fresh smoothie bowl was really good tho!

Pros: A lot of Vegan options , English speaking staff

Cons: Little overprices, Dont serve what you asked for

Good

They have a page for vegan bowls which have some different options.

I guess you can also make the other dishes vegan.

Got the scrambled tofu, the portion was big enough and with some nice spices.

Pros: Big portions

Good for Veggies not so much for Vegans.

Huge menu with lots of veggie options. They do have soy milk (does not say in the menu so just ask) but many of the veggie options look vegan but cannot be made vegan because the dishes are pre-prepared. Bit disappointing. Still, it is nice to have some western, healthy options and the dishes we had were quite good.

Pros: Healthy options

Cons: Little bit pricey, Many veggie options can't be vegan

Friendly place and good food

The restaurant had a nice homely feel to it, the food was cheap and there was a good range of vegan options. We had the battered tofu, battered vegetables, Thai green curry and veggie burger. All of which was delicious. Just make sure to ask them to hold the sweet chilli sauce on the battered food and hold the mayo on the burger.

Great place and will be coming back!

They know what vegan means, which is good for Krabi!

Sitting inside this cafe, you could be forgiven for thinking you were anywhere in Europe. They serve coffee Italian style (I had an espresso, which was classically served with a glass of iced water), and the venue is frequented by a mixture of cultures, including lots of travellers. They have a lot of baked goods for sale, but as far as I could tell, only the brown bread was suitable for vegans. In case you didn't know, most bread in Thailand contains milk, and sometimes egg aswell, so to find vegan bread is a big deal here! They were kind and aware enough to let me know that the bread I ordered wasn't vegan, and directed me to the brown bread.

My omni partner orderd Tom Yum soup, but was misheard and served tomato soup... to my enjoyment, as I had it instead. It was so fresh and tasty. A really rich pomodoro flavour. It came with one slice of brown bread. The veggie burger I had lacked substance, sadly. I'd actually describe it as bubble n' squeak (for any brits out there), and was mostly potato, with not much flavour or spice. Sadly, this let it down. I would trust their pomodoro type sauce though, so if I fancied spaghetti, I'd definitely go back here, as I have a feeling they would use the same base as that rich, tomatoey soup. Yum.

They also do tofu dishes (sweet and sour or with beansprouts in sauce for example) as well as things like pizza, enchiladas and tacos.

Pros: The location is easy and convenient to find (on th, The staff seemed to understand what vegan means wi, Serves espresso coffee.

disappointed

Yes, the menu has vegetarian options. But alas, the pad thai came with chicken inside.
So not that vegetarian-minded, therefor no reason to be on the Happy Cow.
(For excellent veg curry in a non veg place rather go to the River View Restaurant same road nearer to the river)

Cons: veg dish served with chicken :(

has moved location

It is now located next to the fruit and vegetable night market. My daughter had breakfast here and enjoyed the great fresh baked brown bread and home made jam. We did not eat here in the evening as the vegetarian options were very limited.

Pros: great bread and jam, good coffee

Cons: Limited vegetarian options
