Serves meat, vegan options available. Fast food burger chain founded 1968 in Sweden and has since expanded to multiple countries. Concept is similar to McDonald's. Offers burgers, nuggets, fries, shakes, salads, and combo meals. Vegan options include a bbq sandwich, burger and vegan crispy no chicken (ask for egg-free mayo). The vegan dips include bbq, sriracha-ketchup, sweet n sour, and vegan mayo. Reported that plant based items are cooked in same areas as meat. Peak vegan fast food - Edit
I was astounded by how quickly they made my order. Yet the quality of the burger, fries and nuggets I ordered were of a level above what you would expect from a typical ‘fast food’ restaurant.
Read moreThere was nothing I didn’t like about it, was good to see such a wide and well labelled vegan menu. Impressed!
Pros: Super fast, Good quality for fast food
Cons: Area could be better looked after, bit dirty

Nice vegan burgers and milkshakes - Edit
The burgers tasted really good. The milkshakes were also really good but a bit too sweet. But I think they could veganize even more on their menu.

Burger buoni - Edit

New items on the menu! - Edit
Max is one of the places I visit nearly every time I am in the capital, also because there is no restaurant near where I live. Their new menu is very nice, lovely with new options. Would have loved more entirely plant-based options, but still, the right direction. And with the climate impact for the items you choose, great way of bringing awareness to that prospect!
Read morePros: Lovely options, Quick and delicious, Environmentally aware
Cons: Fast-food, Could have more vegan options, Plantbased is fair, but it is not healthy

Nice Vegan Option at the Train Station - Edit
Max is a fast-food burger chain from Sweden. They're famous for being early with focusing on sustainability and offering an extensive veg selection. For that reason and since I am from Sweden I have eaten at Max more times than I can count.
Read moreI am really happy that this Max exists at the Copenhagen main train station. There aren't that many other choices. Regrettably however, I feel like the other major fast-food burger chains (McDonalds & Burger King) have caught up or are starting to catch up. It feels to me as if Max more or less has the same vegan selection that they had five years ago. I wish they would keep pushing the envelope as they used to do.

Good vegan option on arrival - Edit
On arriving in Copenhagen, we just wanted to snack on some fast food before heading to the hotel. This place did not disappoint.
Read moreOrders are placed on interactive screens (English available) and then your number is called out in English so it's a very easy system.
A decent number of vegan options but we decided to share a box of 9 nuggets. With two dips (including vegan mayo! Nice touch) this cost 59DKK which is alright for Copenhagen.
The nuggets themselves were honestly delicious. I think they used panko breadcrumbs or something they were amazingly crispy and very tasty. Dips were standard fare. Overall it's a good option.

In the central station - Edit
It was convenient to have a place to eat when changing trains. They had two plantbased burger options. I chose the bbq burger and it was delicious. They also had eggfree mayo to go with the fries.

OK - Edit
A plus for offering plant based options. I had the BBQ Plant Beef Burger Menu.
Read moreThe burger was a fast food burger - very 'naked': a bit of lettuce and one tiny slice of gherkin (No onions on mine....)
The fries were OK. Better than those at McDonald's but still not great.
I liked that they offer a few vegan sauces like a vegan mayo and a sriracha ketchup. You have to pay extra vor those.

Good vegan burger - Edit
Max is a burger chain in the fast food class. So not gourmet burgers, but "regular" burgers, so to say.
Read moreIn Denmark, in the "fast food class" burger chains (which also includes McDonalds and Burger King), Max offers the largest selection of vegetarian burgers, and as of August 2021, they are also the only one to offers vegan burgers, and vegan milkshakes.
The burgers (of it's class) are good, however the vegan milkshake needs improvement. And the milkshakes are not as pretty as in the pictures.
If you want a quick, vegan burger, Max is a good place to go. Max are much better in quality than McDonalds and Burger King, and Max also acts much more ethical regarding environment and human rights.
They could raise from 3 to 4 stars by improving the milkshakes and introducing vegan desserts.
Pros: Good vegan brugers
Cons: Vegan milkshake needs improvement, No (other) vegan desserts

Great restaurant - Edit
We were looking for something quick to eat in Copenhagen main station and found this restaurant. The whole menu exists in a meat-free version, but they do serve meat. They claim to be CO2 neutral.
