Do Not Give this Organization a Dime - Edit

MKC is a terrible organization.
This is a warning. Please do not pay Matthew Kenney Culinary or any of its affiliates a dime. We paid over $8,000 for my girlfriend to go to school, but just after the last payment my girlfriend lost her job, so we needed that money to live off of. We requested the refund well over 30 days before she was supposed to start classes.
Unless you are rich and have no possibly of needing a refund. Admissions is great when you are signing up for classes and making payments. The customer service ends when you pay your last payment though.
The return policy states that you can get a refund if requesting a refund 30 days prior to classes starting. They do not honor this policy.
Please research this organization. They don't have a Yelp anywhere and don't have reviews anywhere. But if you do enough digging you will find a ton of scam sites with desperate students in the same situation as us.
We were notified we must send a certified letter, which we did, and it was received by March 1st according to an e-mail from the Accounting department. The e-mail included confirmation MKC has 30-60 days to issue a full refund.
After that e-mail, the 60 days passed and the last response we got was that they would have an update for us in a few months......
We are now at 83 days and no refund. We recently contacted our bank and got a small portion refunded, but the bank could not get MKC to give them the rest. So they still owe us over $60000.
MKC has forced us to drain any savings we have as well as cash out our retirement funds just to live. They are a terrible organization. Right now we can't even afford to take our 6 year old pug we rescued to the vet for his yearly check-up.
Please do not make the mistake we did! This post probably won't see the light of day, but if it does I hope it helps someone avoid the worst experience my girlfriend and I have been through.
There are other raw culinary schools that respect their students and are respectable organizations as well. Please go somewhere else.

Laura Ve. 21 Sep 2015 - HI KG1186!! I am happy to have found you and at the same time sad to see that I am a not the only victim of this enormous Fraude that is Matthew Kenney. I wrote in ripp off my case, I think you are there too. I am so sorry to hear and I am terrified to even think on the possibility not to get my money back. As you I signed and paid last year for the two courses for Miami 2015. Sorry, my name is Laura, I am from Spain. I invested a lot of money to learn with the best and because of the way they have treated me I think Matthew Kenney is not following the Vegan philosophy at all; respect for animals, of course!!! But what are we then? Where is the morality of this guide scaming people, not even showing some empathy for your situation. Did you get the rest of the money back? At least they have answered you back. I send the cancellation mail at the end of July and they have not yet come to me!! I would like to be in contact with you, maybe we can help each other. D you know any other victims? Thank you for contacting me.. My email is [email protected]

Alyssa9 07 Dec 2016 - Matthew Kenney Culinary Academy stole $5500 from. They are a SCAM! I had the worst possible experience with this organization as well. It's tremendously sad. I really believe in the food and cuisine and used to be a customer, but now every time they open a new restaurant it makes me sick to even think about going. They are such a dishonest, shady company. Matthew Kenney just got written up in Forbes and it won't take long for all these little issues to catch up with them. Please, please, please help me spread the word online so other people don't end up in the same situation.
