The chess’s spinach puff pastry had a sour taste to it. But it was fluffy , if not for that foul taste I am sure it would be delicious.

Delicious Food at a Plant Based Restaurant - Edit
Pleasantly surprised by a large variety of dishes that were available today including amazing Shwarma, BBQ pulled pork, Green veggie curry, chick pea curry, etc. Many items are made with no added fat. It was so good that we took home more for later. Very friendly owner and staff. Reasonable prices.

I go to Mathildas at least 3 times a week, and have never had a bad experience. The food is always incredible, very reasonably priced and the service is always phenomenal. I have never left upset, or still hungry!

The food is so delicious and for anyone who is curious about eating a plant based nutritionally sound meal go here first!! Today is had the Mac n Cheeze with BBQ “pork”. So flavourful and the portions are huge.
Looking forward to going back and trying something new again.

Adorable restaurant with a fun selection of grocery items. Definitely get the Mac n’ cheese (I had the Gf option with jackfruit). Curries on the hot counter were great, too! Friendly staff rounded out my first visit. 100% coming back!

Finally got a chance to visit this little gem. I tried the absolutely delicious BBQ Pulled Jack, a cookie, a bottled smoothie, and a small container of cheese (which I have searching high and low for). Everything was amazing. I cant wait to come back and try her other foods

Mathilda has changed my life. I have been eating Mathilda's amazing food for 9 1/2 months and have lost over 40 lbs! Blood sugar and pressure is much improved as well. This is the best "diet" I've ever been on. The food is delicious and I haven't felt the least bit deprived. I tell everyone I know/meet to go and try the food. No one has ever come back to me disappointed.

Great food! Had an great time. I’m fairly new to vegan food. Completely dairy free due to an allergy. They were extremely nice in there and explained any questions that I had. Also had “tv dinners” that you could buy for later. Huge portions for a good price.

I've only eaten here once as it's a bit far from me but it was some of the best food I've eaten!! Absolutely delicious and a lot of the food is so creative while also being healthy. The owners are so friendly and knowledgable on veganism so it makes for a great experience. They have menu items as well as premade items you can take home. Highly recommend for anyone in the area!!

Had a great visit. We ordered Mac and cheese, a bahn mi sandwich, and a few sausage rolls. Everything was tasty and the staff were so helpful and friendly. I picked up a few vegan items to take home as well including some spicy ramen noodle cups.

I haven’t had a food here I haven’t liked. I especially enjoy the Banh mi sandwich... they can make it spicy or not... I like it spicy. My kids do not. But we all love it! The soups are great, the macaroni is good, and the owners are super friendly! They also have a few grocery items for sale. Mostly carry-out, not much seating.

Oshawa doesn't have many vegan specific options to choose from, but even if it had 100, Mathilda's would still be the best. She is kind, welcoming, friendly and always makes the best food, with the utmost care and love.

The quick meals on the go are also a great option for those in a hurry. It's full of snacks, appetizers and even meal options for quick grab and go.

Mathilda and Jhon are good, kind, generous and warm souls. It is always a real experience going in. They remember my weird proclivities (no peppers for me)... and I am but one amongst many regulars, so that's saying a lot.
Read moreThe food is tasty and delicious and they are always branching out, doing more, trying more. Make sure you ask what's off menu because they always have something delicious tucked away. There is much for me to still try, but the kale potato sausage soup is amazing and inspired me to start making my own version. The sausage rolls are amazing!!!! The desserts are fab too. Mathilda will remember your name after one or two visits; she's just that kind of firecracker.
And their new space is beautiful! I can't wait to order in and spend an afternoon reading and writing.

If I could I’d give 10 stars.😄Mathilda’s is the kindest most welcoming restaurant in Durham and the food will have you coming back for more whenever possible. Seriously. My boyfriend and I go every week to get our faves and also try the new and delicious daily specials. My whole omni family loves her food. The food ranges in cuisine from Indonesian, Italian, Caribbean, Canadian and more. Also, she takes suggestions for new things to try (perogies, pizza, etc) and we both just love her and Jhon!!! Her grocery section is a must visit and I’m always stocking up on her tzatziki more.

Amazing Food, Amazing Company - Edit
Mathilda and Jhon never cease to surprise me with their new creations. I am always impressed with every dish I eat, as well as the portion size and pricing. Not only are these two great cooks but they are super friendly and inviting that only makes me want to continue to come back to visit AND EAT. The inspiration in their dishes clearly comes from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds, which is amazingly inclusive, and then if you finish off with one of their desserts (especially their muffins) your day will be infinitely better than it was. If you haven't already, you must try this place!!
