Good Thai food in Birmingham

Moving from the east coast to Alabama, I've been disappointed several times at bama's ethnic offerings. I am happy to report Masaman is actually good! Definitely give it a try if you're in the area.

Pros: Lunch prices are great, Actually good Thai food

Agree, best thai for vegans

The lunch prices are a good value. The couple running the place is really sweet and accommodating. They will make tofu spring rolls on request. The tofu coconut soup is so so yummy.

Pros: No fish sauce means curry is an option, Most dishes can be made vegan, Good value

Cons: Some dishes are a little too sweet for my taste

Best Thai for a vegan in Birmingham

This Thai restaurant has the most flexible options for vegans that I have seen in Birmingham, Alabama. In particular, they described over the phone that they do not use fish sauce in any dishes. I was also able to get a Thai Tea without any dairy in it. As a vegan, these are the most important features in a Thai restaurant to me. All the other Thai places in Birmingham we've been to so far had either fish sauce embedded in their curries or Thai Tea pre-mixed with cream.

The food was delicious - my spouse and I ordered the tofu soup, masaman curry, panang curry, and a creamless Thai Tea. All were excellent. Thanks to the Plant Based Birmingham Facebook group for having this on their list of go-to places.

Pros: Many dishes have vegan alternatives, No fish sauce, Great food

Cons: Tucked away in Vestavia Hills
