Didn’t know the difference between vegan and gluten free - Edit
Went there for the buffet at lunch. Nothing at the buffet was marked as vegan so I asked. First I was told the white rice, eggplant, lentils and chickpeas were all vegan. The lentils looked like they had dairy on them so I asked again. She said yes they have butter. Then I asked about the chickpeas, she say they have butter too! I asked about the pakora and she said they didn’t have dairy but did have flour. When we were leaving she asked how everything was. I said I was upset because I don’t eat dairy and she said oh it’s only a little bit. There was more back and forth but suffice to say I will never go back.

Delicious and friendly but make sure to ask what's vegan - Edit
Masala House was absolutely delicious and has some great Indian street food! The service was also super friendly and accommodating. There are clearly labeled vegetarian items but you do need to ask if things are vegan, some are obviously not like paneer, but some aren't so obvious, like the naan or Bombay veg sandwich which we were told wasn't vegan. Would love it if they updated their menu to indicate, but for now you have this review to reference 🙂 here's the fully vegan, very tasty, and highly recommended items we ordered:
Read more- Paani puri - this was really interesting, I've never had it before. These are deep fried crispy shell things filled with chickpeas and potatoes and you pour this refreshing broth into it, would be great on a hot day
- Veg pakora - deep fried crispy veggies
- Yellow daal
- Baigan Bharta
- Papadum - nice and spicy chip-like appetizer
