Serves meat, vegan options available. Thali and tiffin based Indian restaurant in central Cheltenham. Offers a list of vegetarian thalis, and does not use ghee. Vegans request no side yoghurt. Confirmed closed April 2017.
I've been here loads of times and never had a bad experience. the food is superb and the staff are really friendly. it's always quiet which is a mystery to me as everyone loves it. I always get the Thali, ask for a chapatti instead of nan, plain rice instead of pilau, no yogurt and something instead of the dhal as it has some butter in. you will not need a side dish, you'll be stuffed and it's only about 8 quid. Delicious!
Delicious and healthy Thali in central Cheltenham - Edit
Masala Bites is my favourite place to dine out vegan in Cheltenham. They offer a choice of ten vegetarian thalis and since they don't use ghee in any of their dishes, eight of these are vegan if you request not to receive the side order of yoghurt that comes with the thali. The food is healthy and delicious. I've been there with other vegans, with vegetarians, and with meat eaters, and everyone has loved the food. You can check out the menu here: http://masala-bites.com/menu.pdf One thing to note: they have a different menu (not thali-based) during Gold Cup week
