Great Options - Edit
My husband and I drove up from Nags Head on a rainy night. The turn into the parking lot comes quickly after the bridge so we missed it and had to turn around. Even without the outdoor seating available, there was no wait. The service was quick and cheerful. I loved the clearly marked vegan options. We appreciate a chat option that didn’t have yogurts so it was our first time trying the Bhel Puri. I then had the Chana Saag and my husband had the Chicken biryani. Highly recommend.

Delicious vegan food and great view! - Edit
This restaurant is on the water, which is rather unusual for an Indian restaurant. We were here right at the opening of season (mid March), and we were the only diners there. The food was really good! I had the vegan samosas and aloo gobi. The server was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely eat here again.

Excellent Indian Food - Edit
Really excellent Indian food. Beautifully set on the waterfront on the Sound. Vegan options are clearly labeled, and there are many. I really love their Bengan Bartha, but everything is excellent! Incredibly reasonable prices and large portions, we always have leftovers. Staff is super nice and completely aware of vegan dietary requirements. Definitely worth crossing the bridge to the mainland for a meal!!

Very good service but not my favorite. I would have to rated it a 3 but my husband loved it. They did aim to please. I asked for a side of spinach even though it wasn't on the menu and I got it.

Great vegan options - Edit
This is honestly some of the best Indian food I have ever had. I was so pleased to see the numerous vegan options on the menu. We ordered the veggie pakora, aloo gobi, and banyan bharta (eggplant). Each dish was superb, a delicious blend of flavors and textures.
Read moreWe ordered take out, but the restaurant was following social distancing guidelines and had lots of space both indoors and outdoors for dining.
Highly recommend Masala Bay! Totally worth the quick drive over the bridge. I would give them 5 stars if Happy Cow allowed it!

The only Indian in OBX - Edit
Lovely people running this place. We sat outside and had such a nice view of the bay. The vegetable pakoras were amazing and the naan perfect. We also had the vegetable korma ( made from frozen veggies) which was tasty. The channa masala was the worst we ever had. Tasted like reheated too long and just unpleasant.

Beautiful view! - Edit
Great Indian food with a wide array of vegan options! Be aware that their medium spice level is more like hot at other Indian restaurants. I had the samosa appetizer and aloo ghobi. I really enjoyed both. They also have amazing vegan garlic naan!
