What a gem - Edit
Drove to Berkeley Springs for the afternoon and had lunch here. The whole fam loved it. Great service. Food was wonderful and beautifully presented. Everything on the menu that day was vegan (option to add goat cheese to one dish). My kids especially loved that all the desserts were vegan. The chef (owner) walked through and checked on tables. The wait staff were extremely helpful and really warm.

Do yourself a favor and eat here - Edit
Delicious food! My partner and I came to Berkeley Springs for a weekend away and ate here for lunch. Hands down best part of our trip. Really original food, cozy atmosphere, and wonderful service. The portion sizes were very generous. Will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely Incredible - Edit
One of the best meals I have ever experienced. My husband and I stopped by this restaurant on our way out of town, and we instantly regretted not getting every meal we had here. We ordered the Avocado egg rolls, the Chickpea Curry Masala, the bean soup, and focaccia bread. The plates came out stuffed with food, we could not finish everything, but even though we left STUFFED, we also left feeling great and full of love and life because that’s exactly what Maria puts in her food. There was a constant flow of people coming in, which wasn’t surprising considering how good the meals are. Maria herself served us, which really added a personal touch to the whole experience. Definitely a treat to experience, even for meat eaters!

A gem of vegetarian and vegan offerings that stands out in the region - Edit
If you have not been to this restaurant, you are most definitely missing out on an unparalleled experience. Fortunately, this fabulous gem of a cafe is open for lunch and dinner of Friday and Saturday and lunch on Sunday so everyone has some availability in their schedule when they can enjoy the many wonderful things on offer and enjoy the total dining experience here. Each dish is an absolute feast for the senses. Exquisite aromas, perfectly prepared and masterfully seasoned food perfectly plated with an artist's flair. Every plate is picture perfect. Each bite is a flavor experience with layers and levels of simplicity and complexity. If you, too, are looking for a place to enjoy a total dining experience, then the place you want to go to is Mary's Vegetarian Cafe LLC where every meal is meaningful and memorable.
Read moreTo me, the logo for Mary's Vegetarian Cafe LLC is absolutely on point because it evokes in a single image how masterful this chef is with how she composes and seasons the food she prepares. In each dish you will find an exquisite balance of flavors and textures with the fabulous visual appeal of beautiful natural color combinations that you will remember with great fondness. Be forewarned though, the food and dining experience at Mary's Vegetarian Cafe LLC is not something you can partake of once and check it off to move on to another place because a meal at this cafe is so delightful that you will want to go there often. I highly recommend that you do so because life is too short to eat food that isn't absolutely fabulous.

No Longer *All Vegertarian* - Edit
So Mary's has changed into a Bistro format -- it's two areas, a Vegetarian Side and a Meat Eaters side. Not that its a big deal, but she's not a fully vegetarian restaurant anymore, which means they're marked incorrectly on HappyCow. Her website is also incorrectly marked, as it notes "100% of my food prepared for you is plant based" which is no longer true.
Read moreThat said, let me get to my review!
Mary's is unique in the basis that she has some new awesome menu addition every day she's open. I've been lucky enough to try her bread bowl with the kale chili, which was pretty tasty; however, in a small rural market, the prices reflect more "tourist" prices, and not us locals. The bowl of chili alone is over $12, which while I appreciate her work and her small farm to table approach, is extremely high.
Even the Buddha Bowl, which is a mix of vegetables over rice is almost $17! Don't get me wrong, the food is tasty, and I know businesses are in the market to make money, but it feels a bit crazy for such an upcharge.
Simply put: Food = Good, Price = Bad.
Pros: Delicious food, New specials all of the time, Farm to table approcah
Cons: Extremely expensive for the rural market its in, No longer plant based or vegetarian, Only weekend hours
