Tasty, good selection and good value

I've been to other branches of Marugame and enjoyed the food previously but this was my first time at this branch. The first thing I noticed is that they now have a separate vegan menu section with more vegan options than before. They've got a range of four different vegan dishes as well as a seasonal vegan dish which changes. Prices range from £6.45 to £12.45 for the different dishes, which I feel is very reasonable.

As with other branches the restaurant is set out in a canteen style where you move along and choose which dish you want, then tempura (again they have a good vegan range) and finally desserts and drinks. After paying you can head over to the toppings station where you can add free toppings including spring onion, crispy batter pieces and pickled ginger. They also have a machine where you can get free water.

Me and my wife went for the seasonal special Vegoyaki Miso Udon which consisted of udon noodles in a miso broth with vegetable balls and crispy vegetables. It was all very tasty and the vegetables were nice and fresh. We both went for the large and it was a generous portion size. I actually didn't manage to finish mine (although I think that was partly because I got carried away with the free crispy batter pieces!)

I'd recommend Marugame if you're looking for an affordable meal out and I also recommend joining their loyalty club (for free) which allows you to collect stamps and get free udon (although you do have to go quite frequently to get rewards as each stamp expires after one month)

Good cheap eat!

I tried to order all the vegan option but one wasn't available. The curry udon was really good and if you're a vegetarian get an egg with everything! The croquettes were mid and I wish the tempura was warmer but they just sit outside on the side. Would go again for sure though for the price.

Delicious food

Marugame has lots of vegan choices and they even have a tempura bar (where 50% was vegan!). Definitely recommend if you are at the O2, great value for money and very delicious food 🍜
