Restaurant? - Edit
Ich würde das Marples eher in die Kategorie "Bistro" stecken. Nicht, wegen dem Essen, sondern wegen der sehr begrenzten Öffnungszeiten und der Größe. Das Essen ist sehr gut und der Service in Ordnung. Mir gefällt allerdings nicht, dass der Laden so gar nicht eingerichtet ist. Es ist schon eine Weile her, als ich das letzte Mal im Marples war. Aber kahle Wände, zusammengewürfelte Tische und Stühle, Kondenswasser am großen Schaufenster tragen nicht wirklich zu einem einladenden Ambiente bei. Ich mag das Essen, lange sitzen bleiben oder Freunde einladen mag ich aber nicht. Schade, denn aus dem Marples könnte man einiges machen.

Delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere - Edit
They don't have a large choice, but it's seasonal and it was really delicious.

The restaurant lies in the pedestrian zone so you have to walk. But Esllingen has a beautiful old town so you can enjoy the walk. But it is worth the food.
The atmosphere is kind of alternative.

ist nicht ganz einfach zu finden. Parkplätze praktisch nicht vorhanden. Fußweg vom relativ günstigen Parkhaus ist allerdings annehmbar. Essen war gehobene Mittelklasse aber durchaus gut.

Small, Vegan and Lovely - Edit
It's been hard to get to this restaurant as it does not have long hours and is closed often: Hours are Wed-Sat. 12-14:30 and 18-21 and Sun. 12-18.
Read moreHowever, we finally got there and the food was wonderful. I recommend some of the homemade sauces and the sweet potato fries. It's a seasonal menu with few choices, but they are well done.
The vegan ice creams they offer are wonderful, we also had a fresh waffle with our ice cream for dessert.
The homemade spelt bread is also wonderful.
