Big portions, clearly marked, traditional greek food with vegan options! - Edit
Would highly recommend this place for vegans and non vegans!! Great place to check out while on the island. The staff was attentive and made sure you were taken care of. Good wine, good food, and big portions! I brought so much back to my hotel with me, I couldn’t finish it all! And it was super fairly priced.

Huge portions - Edit
There are some vegan options on the menu, marked with a V. We had the pasta which was a bit sweet, the bulbs of garlic made it tastier. Wanted to order the large beans but they were sold out, we got the rice with spinach instead - the dill in this was wildly strong though so we didn't really eat it. The fried eggplants were alright but needed a sauce. Cute space, friendly team working there, huge portions and affordable prices, okay vegan food.

Authentic Apeiranthos Village food!! - Edit
Maro Tavern in the downtown area of Naxos has a woman from Apeiranthos, “The Marble village,”re-creating authentic village dishes. They had so many vegan options that I could not decide what to have. I ordered four items and shared with a friend. The plates were so large that packed food to go to last me another two meals. We ordered the mixed veggie salad, the potato salad (Naxos is famous throughout Greece for growing the tastiest potatoes), yemista (stuffed peppers), fasolada (bean soup), bread and red wine. I think I’ll be eating all of my meals here even though I rented an Airbnb w/full kitchen.

Huge portions - Edit
This place offers standard fare with some clearly marked vegan options. You might need to remind them every so often that you want vegan food…they gave me cheese on the side for the pasta, and offered a free (non-vegan) dessert at the end of the meal; but if you are vigilant, they seem responsive to vegan requests. Our dishes were surprisingly huge; my sense is that this is the type of place where they expect you to sit and eat for a while – the food is almost a bit too much to eat in one sitting.

Large portions, low prices - Edit
Vegan options clearly marked. Staff understand veganism and offered to put cheese in the side of the salad rather than on top as I am vegan and my fiancé is not. Very large portions and very tasty! A large selection of Greek dishes as well as basics like tomato pasta.

Mom and Pops - Edit
Enjoyed my meal here in Maro's. Like a mom and pops restaurant getting served a home cooked meal. Pasta with garlic and bread with olive oil and garlic. Lots of garlic. Pasta portions was good for two, I made it two meals for myself. Bread spread was delicious but they over toasted it and was a bit burnt and tough. Wish I had more time to try more things here. Lots of vegan options on the menu.

Amazing food for fair price - Edit
Although not a completely vegan/vegetarian menu, I would truly recommend this place. There are a lot of vegan options, and they are declared as such on the menu, so it's easy to find what you want. You get quite big portions for a fair price, and the food is fresh and tastes great. We will definitely return!

Authentic place - Edit
We tried the pastas and wine, it was good! The place was full and feels like an authentic greek tavern to try! Lots of meat eaters around though. The waiter nicely named all the vegan options we can find in the menu.

Some good, some not - Edit
The French fries, vegetable soup and spaghetti were good. I got a rice and vegetable of the day dish that wasn’t what I expected and a little too soupy for a rice dish. The people are nice and the neighbors cat, Garfield comes around to say hi, which is a huge plus for me 😂

Disappointment - Edit
Had to go there because everyone has rated it so good. But it was overall a disappointment. Not too many vegan/vegatarian options, some of them had run out and the rest was soaked in oil.

Uncomfortable service - Edit
I went here for my birthday and the staff were so rude and unfriendly I felt like they didn’t want me there. Maybe because I’m not local? Also one of the waiters made a judgemental comment bc I come from a Greek family and can’t speak fluent Greek. Also the few vegan options they had are pretty standard at any greek tavern? I left and went to a different tavern that actually had a vegan plate full of more variety of Greek food.

Small Vegan menu (in Greek) - Edit
Yes, it's true. They have a small Greek vegan menu. The options are the same as in most Greek restaurants but at least they're aware and will make sure you don't get any animal products. Large portions and seems liked by locals.

fantastic vegan options! - Edit
This place was so good we returned three times! There are at least 20 vegan options on the enormous menu including warm hummus, fava, giant beans, black eyed peas, tons of salad options, garlic mushrooms, garlic greens, olives, etc. The best of Naxian produce. Also, it's a favourite spot among the locals.
