Delicious breakfast - Edit
The location is a bit unassuming, we couldn’t help but wonder if we were at the correct location. It’s tiny and tucked away, it’s easy to miss if it’s your first time visiting. We try to get there early as it gets quiet busy and there isn’t a lot of seating. However, if there is a line, it’s worth the wait!! And This is coming from someone who hates crowds lol.
Read moreI’ve been vegan for several years now and it’s been difficult to find delicious pancakes, so when I heard about the 3 leches pancakes I just HAD to try them. I’m not a fan of 3 leches cake, so I was a bit hesitant. Wow! These pancakes are perfect! Fluffy, warm, not too sweet, fresh berries on top. Yum! I also love their brekkie tacos. Ingredients are fresh & they’re so flavorful. The vegan chilaquiles are good too. I can’t wait to return and try their other items.

Nice option - Edit
This spot was a pleasant surprise. I made a point to go here on my last day in town. It's not near all of tourist areas so be ready to drive a bit, but it was worth it. I had the vegan Mexican hash and it had great flavor. They do have a separate vegan menu.

Amazing vegan options and omni friendly - Edit
My family tried Marla out for the first time today. Two vegans with two vegan kids and omni grandparents that steadfastly refuse to go to a "vegan" restaurant.
Read moreWe all came away very happy. I got the chilaquiles and my wife got the hash bowl. The plates looked as good as they tasted. The chilaquiles were made with a green sauce and had nice chunky napalos mixed in. Crazy sorts of tasty. Ditto for the refried black beans.
The hash bowl was equally tasty. We got tres leches pancakes for one kid and the vegan slam for another. The tofu "eggs" were seriously tasty. They weren't lazy and just piled in the spices. They let the tofu speak for itself. My kids ate them up. The pancakes were amazingly fluffy. The hash browns were decent, but nothing to write home about. Still had my kid cleaning the plate even though there was quite a bit of food on the plate.
That may be my only real gripe. They didn't have a vegan kids menu. Still kid friendly food, but the portions were big if you have little kids.
They also gave us oat milk for the coffee. That was really nice. The omni grandparents also enjoyed their food as well.
Prices are pretty good too.
The restaurant itself is totally unpretentious and pretty intimate (read small). One thing that made me happy was the bathroom was also hella clean. I like seeing that. All in all, I'm really happy with Marla's and we'll very much go back without hesitation.
Pros: Tasty, Good prices, A huge variety
Cons: Small, no vegan kids menu items
