Best place in Zurich - Edit

The best restaurant for me in Zurich.
A bit upper class so it is a bit pricey and portions are not the biggest, but the food is creative, tasty and staff is very friendly.

Pros: Great food, Creative, Friendly staff

Cons: Pricey

courageous and innovative ... our favorite place - Edit

is this not what we are always expecting when we try a new place? We have been there several times now and it was up and down. Actually down and up: Now better than before ... you feel the presence of the owner in the kitchen. He is for sure better than the cook before.
Great menu and food. In a word: progressive in the right direction. Now finally good service is giving the customers what they expected. If you are looking for a different experience: you should visit this excellent place.

Gourmet class! - Edit

The most fancy vegan dinner we've ever had, complete with hints of "macro molecular" style ingredients.
Go there if you want to impress somebody or really treat yourself.

Pros: extremely good

Cons: rather expensive (but worth it)

Amazing dining experience - Edit

One of the most amazing Vegetarian (let alone Vegan) meals I've ever had. Did the "gourmet" (tasting) menu which consisted of an amuse bouche, three savory and one sweet dish. The amuse bouche I'm not exactly sure what it was... it involved some red quinoa and a semi-sweet sauce, along with possibly some diced root veggies.

Next followed the lambs lettuce salad with chestnuts, orange fillets and some sort of crustini. From there it was a celery soup poured over diced saffron apples. The combination of flavors was amazing and the soup was deliciously thick.

Following the soup was a pumpkin "quiche" which was thankfully on the smaller side but quite rich, creamy and enclosed in such a wonderful pastry. A sprig of oregano stood out of it and complimented the autumn dish.

The last savory dish was a house made spinach "root" ravioli. It was three giant ones - the pasta simply perfect and some microgreens to go along. There was optional white truffle which of course I had them put on. Happened in front of my eyes, done to taste, with a scale gauging how excessively you were going :)

The dessert, a chocolate cream with some (I think) poached fruit on top was fantastic. My only regret is that I was too full to put much of a dent in it!

I did the tasting with the wine pairings which worked out perfectly. Each perfectly tied to and complimenting the dish. Thanks very much to the two servers who took me through that meal - simply amazing!

Pros: Innovative, Fresh, Flavorful

Great food, nice setting - Edit

If you fancy a more formal dinner, then this is the place to go. The menu changes frequently and involves seasonal ingredients. We have been there several times and it has always been a perfect dinner experience due to the creative, well-tasting, and nicely presented meals.

Pros: Seasonal ingredients, Very competent and friendly personnell

Nice atmosphere, great food, small portions. - Edit

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere the decoration is upper scale, the food is great but the portions are tiny at least for a big guy like me. What good is it to serve great food when at the end of the meal you're still hungry? How can you serve the same plate to a small woman and then that same plate to a big guy? Does not make any sense but that's a problem most restaurants have. Easy solution: sell the plates in 3 sizes small, medium and large.

Good, but not great - Edit

The food was alright and the staff very attentive. They use absolutely no meat substitutes, so that was a nice experience - the food is really creative. It wasn't completely to my taste though and I found it a bit overpriced. Probably would not go there again.

Pros: Creative dishes, Good atmosphere

Cons: Really expensive

Excellent! - Edit

This is by far one of the best restaurants in zurich for vegs and meat-eater alike. Everything is freshly prepaired with seasonal ingredients. The staff is very well educated and super friendly. The only really "chic" place to dine when you are a vegan and you really like wine. A must visit!!
