Several options

Very knowledgeable staff—as soon as I started asking about cheese/dairy in the soup, she asked “are you looking for vegan options?” And proceeded to walk me through the many options on the menu. I recommend getting the hummus and fatoush, since fatoush comes with plenty of fresh pita. I also enjoyed rice and French fries, and could’ve ordered falafel or grilled veggies as well. Very tasty and you can tell the staff takes great pride and care in their food!

Pros: Many vegan options, Knowledgeable staff, Fresh taste

Cons: Vegan not clearly marked, Dairy in lentil soup

Fresh and delicious

It was our first time eating at Markook Mediterranean restaurant and we will definitely be repeat customers. The staff were very personable and helpful explaining the vegan options to us. I had a sautéed vegetable bowl and my husband had their falafel bowl. I think their falafel was the best I’ve ever tried. Both were very fresh and delicious.

Pros: Fresh foods, Quality ingredients, Friendly staff

Cons: None

Love this place!!

I wish this site would allow me to post a five star review because Markook deserves the highest rating! Their food is amazing and the owners are such nice people! My husband and I always look forward to going to Markook. I get the vegetarian ghallaba platter with hommus and tabulee which is an absolute treat for the palate and my husband feels the same way about the falafel platter. Love this place!!

Delicious!

Absolutelty amazing restaurant! The staff asked if either me or my friend were vegan or vegetarian, when I said vegan she not only pointed out every vegan options (which is most of the menu) but also explained what each dish was. Very patient staff with over the top food! Fresh, large portions, delicious! Could not recommend enough!

Good Falafel

i got the Falafel platter with lentil soup and Baba Ganoush but the lentil soup tasted like boiled lentils so that is a no go my mom got the vegetable platter with rice pilaf the vegetables were spicy and full of flavor but i am knocking a star off for the bland lentil soup.

Cons: bland lentil soup

Fast casual falafel with attention to detail

This is a fast casual Mediterranean place. You can choose a salad, wrap, or platter. I had the falafel platter (vegetarian ghallaba is the other veg grill option) with hummus and tabulee. Everything was great. Large falafel, rich & creamy hummus, very fresh tasting tabulee. I enjoyed that they placed mint leaves on the falafel and gave a lemon wedge to squeeze over the tabulee. The freshly baked bread that comes with the platters is a very nice touch. Very friendly staff, too. I will stop again next time I pass through Washington, PA.

Markook

This is a very pleasant Middle Eastern restaurant in Washington, PA. The people are friendly and the food excellent. Nice big portions even for take out.

Pros: Food quality very fresh and authentic., Big portions.

Cons: A bit out of the way- not very close to downtown.
