Gets the job done - Edit
A metal bar with competent food and nice people. The burger I had was not Impossible (as stated by another reviewer), and since when do vegans not dig wheat gluten? It’s true I wasn’t crazy about anything I had there (guacamole burger and spicy chicken wrap) but all together it’s pretty good vegan bar food with a long menu and house-made meats.

Exceptional - Edit
I was thoroughly impressed with several menu items. The $6.66 French Toast was absolutely delicious – so much so that I had to get a second order. Highly recommended for anyone visiting; you won’t regret it!
I also tried the mushroom soup special. While it was tasty, I felt that $8 was a bit steep for what was mostly broth and not very hearty.
The chicken parm sandwich, however, was a delightful surprise. What seemed basic at first glance turned out to be exceptional. The vegan chicken had the perfect texture, complemented by savory marinara sauce and creamy vegan mozzarella. Even the bread was a standout, adding to the overall fantastic flavor.
The service was friendly and quick, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant itself is a true dive bar with fun decor, enhancing it's unique charm.

Didn’t order food …read why - Edit
Upon walking in the place smelled of urin and beer, more like a bar alleyway than a restaurant…the chicken is wheat gluten and the burgers are impossible and the kitchen staff looked filthy. We turned around and walked out.

Peak comfort food - Edit
I absolutely loved their chicken with waffles and cheese steak sandwich. The waffles in particular were delightfully fluffy with a crisp exterior. The cheese steak was packed with flavor. Also, the place’s vibe is unique with tons of punk, leftist, and vegan decor. You have to come here if you are visiting SLC!

Dive bar aesthetic with comfort food - Edit
First, the place looks cool. And it's all vegan. My son wanted to check it out, so we went there in the evening, arriving about an hour before closing on a Saturday night.
Read moreWe seemed to be the only customers. Maybe staff was tired, but they were not exactly attentive (I don't expect a lot, but a hi/bye is always nice) and everything seemed a little grungy, eg lukewarm water in glasses that didn't look very clean.
My food was not great, overcooked and way too greasy for me, and I picked at it. The other members of my party finished their dishes and felt ill afterwards. Beastro may feel like "comfort" to most people, and the ratings suggest that diners love the food, but I would not return.

All the food was awesome! - Edit
I have been excited to try this place since we planned our trip to SLC. First of all, the 666 theme is hilarious. All the food we tried was great, my boyfriend was obsessed with the Buffalo “chicken” wrap; I had the Beast salad which was the perfect combo of veggies and protein. The ranch dressing is also great. We also tried the fried PB&J as for some reason this had never crossed our minds as a great idea and it was melty and delicious. Also super friendly server who chatted with me about our cats!!

Amazing Vegan Diner Food! - Edit
This place blew my mind! I love that they have breakfast all day and the menu is full of delicious comfort food options. It’s a casual spot connected to a music venue where you order at the counter and seat yourself and they will bring your food to your table. They were slammed for Sunday brunch,

Unexpected - Edit
Excited again to support a plant based/vegan restaurant! Love seeing the big sign out front with VEGAN prominently displayed. We dined for brunch on a Sunday at 12p. Interior is dark and funky with retro shows playing on the monitor behind the bar. We shared the garbage hash and a waffle; getting our fix of sweet and salty. The hash was a great mix of shredded potatoes, sausage, mushrooms, peppers and more. The waffle was simple and airy; satisfying the sweet tooth when smothered in syrup.

Cool environment - Edit
Placed at no. 666 on the street, the interior reflected that - a grungy haunted house mix that was very cool. The wait staff were far from scary however and very attentive. I had the classic burger with salad and a side of fried pickles. The burger patty had the flavour of a moving mountains burger the texture was much less ‘meat like’ which was pleasant. My first experience of fried pickles was also a good one!

Good Food and Good Vibes - Edit
I really enjoyed this place. All of the food I tried was delicious. The Animal Liberation Fries were delicious and made a great starter. The milkshake was good. I thought it had a bit of an aftertaste, but the person I shared it with had no issues. The quesadillas were phenomenal. The wrap had an excellent texture and flavor. I really loved the atmosphere here, and I enjoyed seeing the collection of books that’s you can apparently borrow. Our server was exceptionally friendly, and the decor of the place gives mutual aid and community solidarity vibes. This is a cool little dive. That is definitely worth a visit.

Cool niche vegan spot - Edit
Great restaurant with a groovy sign out front and great food options. My friend and I shared the animal fries (very tasty), the Chopped Cheese (pure savory goodness), the French toast (my new favorite vegan French toast of all time) and their specialty - the Chicken & Waffles. The texture of the “chicken” was super realistic, but unfortunately it was over done. Very hard to cut and kind of hard to chew. I’d like to give it another shot on a future visit to see if it’s any different.

I tried the popular breakfast sandwich and was not disappointed. The cheesy topped tofu was soft and delicious and the maple sausage was very flavorful. Was glad it was on an English muffin. Coming from NYC, I found the prices to be very good.
