Had a great time dining outside at Mario’s. At this time, they didn’t have wait staff to service outside so we ordered at the to-go window and sat at the tables. No biggie. This is a very well oiled establishment with great customer service.

The pizza and fries were drryyyyy this visit. I was piling on ketchup. I’d return again to continue supporting this vegan menu and to try some other yummy options.
Also, beautiful spot to peek around the corner to see the sunset bayside.

The vegan pizza was the best I have ever had! We got the margarita vegan and it was perfect. The sauce and cheese was excellent and the crust was crispy. We did wait 45 minutes and it wasn't crowded, but still way worth it because of how good the pizza was.

I ordered the Vegan Margarita Pizza and the Vegan Cheesecake and both were incredible. This was the best margarita pizza I have had anywhere so far. The cheesecake slice was just plain but was suprisingly good!! I would recommend to anyone looking for a vegan option in OCNJ. Looking forward to trying their other vegan options in the future.

The vegan menu and the server were wonderful. Lots to choose from and it was all delicious. We got garlic bread, spaghetti and sauce, a vegan white pizza with broc, and a sub with grilled veggies, vegan cheese, and tomato sauce. All so good. Our server was so helpful and nice. All of of our food came out at very different times, like half came out a half an hour later, which was frustrating, and the owners were doing some construction project outside next to the outdoor dining tables which was very loud and overwhelming. Felt like that definitely could have been handled prior to opening that day. We moved our table mid meal to the other side of the building, where there was no shade to escape the sound and they soon moved the project over to our new side, asking another table to get up which was so rude. Would def do take out here again but prob not dine with them.

5 stars! (Happy cow dosent allow 5 stars for not all vegan places). This is the absolute best vegan pizza you will ever try. They use cheese similar to violife (yum) but the real winner is the crust/sauce. All homemade and seriously out of this world. Try a white broccoli pie, or a sicilian and ask for hot garlic. The staff are INCREDIBLE people, super knowledgeable about veganism and thrilled whenever someone vegan comes in (most of the staff is veg/most veg themselves!). Often times the guys who run this place will even have something in the fridge for you to try, and are always exploring new menu additions. They’ve grown a lot over the years from using plain old daiya to without a doubt the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had. There’s a whole vegan menu with pizza, pasta, garlic bread, cheese fries, soups, salads, etc., but the pizza will fill you up and make you want to come back!

So I went here around 8:30pm, and they said they were closed, but they made me a pizza to go anyway. It tasted really good, the crust was perfect, they use daiya cheese, and I have no complaints about the food, at all. Just be aware that they do not stay open late, and don’t actually have a set closing time. One owner is vegan, one owner is not. There was a flyer for a kids fishing tournament in the window, and I found that a bit off-putting. Also, I actually appreciate that on their separate vegan menu, it specifies that the sandwiches are grilled on shared equipment. Not that I really want food made on shared equipment, but I do appreciate clarity.

The food here is great. The tomato pie is one of the best I have ever had. The white pizza has a delicious garlic/olive oil flavor over top of the vegan cheese and broccoli. Spinach is also an option with the white pie. The menu has a large variety of Italian vegan foods, as a matter of fact, it is the largest selection I have ever seen for a place that was not totally vegan.

The family run restaurant has nice, friendly service. The owner and nephew makes it a point to have conversation with me and whomever I bring with me. The place is not a huge, but it is comfortable and cozy.
My teenage daughter has been there with her friends and she loves the place. My only complaint is that it is not closer to where I actually live.
My trip to Ocean City today was specifically to get seasonal beach tags and stop off to eat lunch and take home a pizza. I look forward to a summer of nice weather and lunch at Mario's.
Mario's is open year-round, not just during the summer.

Update: I adjusted my review from two to four stars. Last night, we decided to give Mario’s another chance. When we called to order we were on hold for 8 minutes and had to hang up and call back. We decided to pick up because god only knows what the delivery service is like. We got the pizza and it was awesome. Best vegan pizza I’ve ever had. So if you’re not dealing with any of the people that work here and you only eat the pizza, it’s pretty good. Service still sucks. I was so excited to come here with my family for my husband’s birthday so everyone could have pizza and I could actually eat some too! The only reason this has any stars is because I got to eat a below average doughy Stromboli. There was one waitress for like 9 tables. This poor girl was so overwhelmed. We ordered unsweetened iced teas and they came sweetened. We told her and she told us they don’t have sweet tea. Then she came back and told us they gave us the wrong tea and brought the unsweetened teas. Huh? Then we asked if we could BYO to which she replied yes. Except they didn’t have wine glasses which I wish we knew and we wouldn’t have brought in the wine. My mom wanted pizza with mushrooms, but she wanted fresh mushrooms and asked if the mushrooms were fresh and not canned. A pizza came out with clearly canned mushrooms. Oh and the ran out of salads. So the salad came out after our pizza which she did take off the bill. It was overall a really disorganized experience that we suffered through so I could have vegan Stromboli

Have tried many of the vegan options at Marios! If you are looking for a good vegan pizza, you will not be disappointed. The Sicilian margarita pizza is our favorite. Owner Ernesto is a proud vegan who is now 2 years eating a plant based diet. His love for Veganism and its health befits shines through in the delicious food!! Sure do wish we could give a 5 star rating (Happy cow reserves 5 stars for fully vegan and vegetarian restaurants) , because this place is definitely deserving of it!!

I tried the cheese pizza one night and the vegan cheese on a second trip. Both were a pizza lovers delight. The gnocchi with marinara was cooked to perfection, not mushy. Tangy marinara pleased all 4 of my friends who tried this dish.
