Would give 5 stars if app would let me! The sweetest and yummy food! - Edit
This spot was so cute, the owner was the sweetest. She saw me looking at the vegetarian menu online and quickly brought over the specific vegetarian menu on paper. Was very accommodating and offered multiple vegetarian/vegan options included a delicious soy milk ramen! My partner said the soy milk ramen was the best he had had. Please check it out if you are in Kanazawa (but maybe not if you are in a rush as she works alone so it takes some time - but the wait is so so worth it!)

Mapo tofu - Edit
Like many others here, we were also asked when we came in if we were vegetarians and then got a special menu. I chose mapo tofu which she recommended. It was strong, but good, for this you had to choose how much rice you wanted. A little unique experience because the place was so small and it felt somehow like coming home to her. Very nice (and affordable)!

Great experience - great woman - Edit
Deserved 5 stars - this is a one woman show and she is doing great.
Read moreShe is definitely not fluent in English but she makes it up by simply being original. No big talks just a lady cooking her home food for people.
Just like at home she is showing live with food, not with a smile - We loved it.
We got asked if we are vegetarian before ordering, which I didn't see coming. Idfk what Ethan e. Was talking about

Beware of fake reviews - Edit
Unfortunately, this is the 2nd location I've been to where the food is vastly different from what's described in the reviews here at HappyCow.
Read moreI went to Marichou-K today for lunch. There was no one else there, at 11:30 am. Unlike one of the reviews, the owner didn't ask if I was vegetarian at all. I had to tell her specifically, upon which she brought out the menu.
I wanted to purchase some of the food to go, with some for lunch there. She said no without giving any reason. I asked via Google Translate if I can bring my own container and she can put the food in there, and she said no again. She seemed to be getting agitated.
I ordered the Kanazawa ramen. She asked if egg is fine, I replied In Japanese that it is.
The ramen included the noodles and 2 kinds of vegetables, only. The veggies were only in minimal amounts. The soup was standard soy sauce. Nothing like what's shown in the photos in the reviews. No egg, even though she had asked if it was ok and I replied that it was. I asked her where the egg was, she replied that she doesn't understand English.
This is the laziest, and worst vegetarian food I have ever eaten in my life. The noodles with some of 2 types of vegetables is worth at most 500 yen, not 1100.
Cons: Food, Service

Don't believe him guys. This is by far one of the best vegetarian experiences we had in the last couple of days and we came from Osaka.

We were the first to arrive so got served fairly quickly. The veg ramen was absolutely delicious as well as the fried mushrooms and edamame. I give it 5 stars but the app won’t allow me.

Really good food - vegan options available - Edit
There is a separate card for vegetarian food and at least some of the dishes can be made vegan. I had the ramen noodles (with glas noodles instead of the egg noodles) and it was really really good!

Little gem - Edit
After walking around a lot we were getting quite desperate. Very hard to find a place with vegan options in Kanazawa. This tiny restaurant is run by a lady who cooks the food from scratch, so be prepared to wait. I had tofu with stir-fried leaf vegetables, boiled yam and edamame, and rice. It was delicious, and so was the non-vegan food. The portions are not very big compared to other places and we found it a little more expensive aswell, but definitely worth it.

Highly recommend 🍲 - Edit
I‘m on vacation with my mum and in Japan it’s a little bit complicated to find an authentic restaurant which offers both vegan and non-vegan options. This is definitely the place to be! Just ask for the separate vegan/ vegetarian menu and then tell her that you‘re vegan and she will veganise the meal. I got the tofu in hot bean sauce and the stir fried glass noodles alongside local Kanazawa beer. It was very spicy (not suitable if you can‘t handle it) and so so delicious. My mother got fish and it was also very delicious. Please note, that you have to wait ~20min for your food since she will cook everything freshly. There are only ~10 seats, you might have to wait outside.

Decent place for vegan food in Kanazawa - Edit
There's a separate vegetarian menu, which is provided only upon request. Most of the dishes on the vegetarian are also vegan, except the noodles. However, you can replace the regular noodles with glass noodles. I thoroughly enjoyed the soy milk ramen with glass noodles. Portion sizes are hearty, and prices are reasonable. You have to order a drink with dinner, which was a bit unexpected. Their white wine was quite good. The atmosphere is compact and cozy. There is only one person serving the food and cooking, so expect to wait. Limited English spoken by staff. They only accept cash.

The owner doesn’t speak much English, but she knows the phrases needed for daily use in a restaurant.
The woman asked us „share?“ and I said yes, thinking she meant the bill. Actually she split every portion in two, so that me and my friend had half a portion of each dish we ordered. It was perfect!
Pros: Soy milk ramen, Cozy

Delicious ramen and other vegan choices.
Read moreThe place is run by a sweet lady and seats 12 people at most, cash only. We were the first two people for the evening, followed soon by a group of four. The next person after that was turned away, I’m assuming because the kitchen was at capacity. Once the first meals were served, she let a couple more people in.
Everything we ate was delicious!
Pros: Tasty food, Good portion sizes, Cozy atmosphere

Affordable and relatively wide selection of vegan food close to Omicho Market - Edit
It's a cozy space run by a single woman, she has a decent selection of vegan food, and it was quite tasty! Perhaps the portions were a bit small for my taste, but they were nevertheless flavourful. The service was also rather fast, which was quite surprising given that she had to take the orders and cook them all by herself. I suppose we were lucky to go there when it was pretty much empty.

Vegan and Veg Friendly - Edit
Location : an easy walk north of the Castle Park on a busy main street.
Read moreThere’s an English menu with several options : spicy eggplant, mixed vegetable stir fry, cabbage and seaweed salad. We ordered the soy milk ramen with glass noodles (mild) and the Mapu tofu with rice, hot and peppery with a generous amount of silken tofu. Returned for lunch and had eggplant with chili, rice and a side salad (spicy) and tofu with Chinese vegetables and rice(mild). The owner was friendly and service was excellent.
A good spot for lunch or dinner with many beverage choices.

Excellent vegan ramen and more - Edit
Near the castle park and garden, this Chinese restaurant has several items on its menu that can be made vegan. The soymilk ramen is highly rommended, especially with some toppings added (I'm a fan of the takana mustard greens, which are pickled add another dimension to the ramen once you're halfway through.) Even without extra toppings, the ramen dish is full of mushrooms, chives, and other yumminess.
