Delicious tofu balls

Really friendly, delicious food and big portions. Had the pumpkin curry and tofu balls - both were delicious. Highly recommend the tofu balls in sweet and sour sauce.

Great for

Indonesian good that's not just the nasi, mie, curry, and gado gado you get everywhere. The food was on the sweet end but really yummy. I'd give this five stars if I was rating on a proper curve for this small island. Had the tofu balls, the berontak (tofu stuffed and deep fried), eggplant (least sweet option) a sweet tempeh dish, all good. Didn't care for the dessert of es kolak, however: very dull.

Really enjoyed coming here went almost every day while on the island. Very small place but great food for a cheap price. Didnt have to wait long as I was often the only one there (it was off season).

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Lovely people that ran the place, Cheap and good food

Cons: Lots of flys, Not open sometimes

Nice home cooked food

I ordered the tempeh tahu sweet sou sauce and it was really nice. I enjoyed the simplicity of the food. It takes some time to prepare but if you know it, it’s fine.

Pros: Cheap, Tasty, Home cooked

Cons: Takes a bit of time, Simple seating

Best vegan meal on Lembongan

We were a bit apprehensive about coming here, as we have seen reviews saying how long the food took to arrive, and we were starving! However, the food arrived in about 15 minutes, so not a problem at all.
It was amazing, we had the tofu balls, aubergine curry and fried tempeh. We heard that the boembali sauce was great, and it was, but the standout winner was the tempeh with sweet chilli sauce (not like the sweet chillies sauce you get in the uk, it’s not too sweet, more like a sweetened soy sauce).
It’s unbelievably cheap too, we had 3 drinks, 3 mains, and 2 delicious desserts that we took away for less than £10. We felt like we’d robbed the place!

Hidden Treasure

Maria’s is an incredible local joint and was one of our favourites over our holiday for many reasons. The beverages were the cheapest we found on the island and the variety for vegans on an omnivore menu was very reasonable. All of the meals packed flavour and the serving sizes were generous.

Pros: Cheapest we found on the island, Supporting a family oriented business , Incredible authentic Indonesian cuisine

Best restaurant on Lembongan !

A little “hole in the wall” joint out front of someone’s home. Super cheap and the food is made fresh to order and tastes that way too. Definitely try the tofu veggie balls and veggie spring rolls! Would give 5 star if I could

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Cute home style place, food is made with love, Very good value for money

Cons: Down an alley so have to look out for it

Amazing!

Freshly prepared! You can see them cooking it😄get there early as it gets busy in the evening! We usually got there about 6/630. Best Indonesian food we had on the island without shadow of a doubt!

Great food ans price

As the first review said, the food is delicious but takes a long time to get ready as there are only 2 - 3 women cooking.

They were very friendly and I also believe it's the best in the island.

Look for the vegetarian section.

Pros: Staff, Price, Delicious

Cons: Takes a while

Pros: Günstig, Viele vegetarische/vegane Gerichte, nettes Personal

Cons: nichts

highly recommended

If you do not mind the wait, then Maria's offers some of the best vegetarian food on the island. All dishes (I've tried 9 or 10) are very good. Vegetarian options include pasta and pizza's, though most are local dishes. Each dish is created on the spot and the cook (Maria's husband) will gladly adapt to any specific needs. He did for me and my sensitive digestive system never had any problems. The seating is very simple on wooden and bamboo benches on the beach, but the view of the Ocean, Mt Agung and the seaweedfarmers is just perfect. Prices are below the local average.

Pros: excellent food, very friendly, fantastic view

Cons: longer serving time, very simple seating
