the best falafel in amsterdam - Edit

This is falafels the way they make them in middle east. also babaganous(roasted eggplant salad. It is good value for the money. I am addicted, and my trick is to ask for only 3 falafel balls,(they offer you 6) so i can pile on the yummy salad in the whole wheat pita, then the amazing sauces in layers.
This piled up dinner in a pita is a two handed operation needing extra napkins, in its sloppy eat feast. You get in the self serve salad selection; black and green olives, herbed cooked carrots, eggplant, cuscuss, onions, lettuce, tomatos, pickled vegs, cooked beets. the sauces are garlic, tahini,a hot red sauce and a groovie green sauce, and mayonase.
I hear that the french frys are pretty good ( i try to limit my grease). I tell you, you can not leave this stand hungry.

Pros: good value for small investment

Cons: limited seating, mostly standing room or eat out

love this place - Edit

I love their chops and curry sauce, it's more like mango chutney so you get the perfect salty sweet hit.

The salad box is also amazing with fresh crispy hot falafel and as much salad as you can pile on. So much to choose from. Love it

Pros: lots to choose from , you can choose your own salad, value for money

Good and satisfying - Edit

Well it's pretty good for a quick and satisfying bite! I c.ertainly wouldn't take someone to dinner there but quite often I go past Maoz Falafel and feel tempted to get one even when I'm not hungry
I do like all the salads and they are usually fresh.
No complaints!

Pros: Cheap, Convenient, Tasty

Cons: Not hugely atmospheric

surprisingly great! - Edit

The fact that I stayed right near this Maoz, and that it's just in a great location meant I ate at this location more than the others (once twice in one day).
It's falafels - so expect fatty deep fried deliciousness. Having said that, this is my favourite falafel Shop I've eaten at, anywhere, ever.
The pita pockets are fresh and warm, the falafels are very good AND they actually put a decent amount in the pocket, and the kicker is the fact that you get to add your own salad and sauces, just as you like them. If you dine in, the staff were fine with me adding more sauce and salad mid way through the meal.
You get all this for a very good Price too.
Pro Tip: ASK FOR HUMMUS when you order, otherwise you'll miss out. ;)

Pros: lots of falafels inside the pita, great tahini sauce with free top ups, nice selection of self serve salads and veges

Cons: small store and can get busy

Good place for a fa(s)t eat - Edit

I would leave the same review as I did for the Maoz in Paris, France.

"(fried) Falafel is fat food everyone knows that..so don't be surprise!
In a central location to take away for a quick bite

Cheap food , definitely prefer eat fruits but if you want something fatty and not expensive go for it! "

Pros: Convenient location, fast and cheap

Cons: minimal bar seating, no toilet

Beware! - Edit

This maoz falafel has lost its glory. It used to be a good one, with good service and appreciable taste of the falafel balls and salad bar.

Nowadays they rip off customers consistently (they will let you pay more than what it shows on the menu and try and defend the pricing when you confront them with it). Also the salad bar is not as fresh as it used to be.

I recommend people to STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAOZ and go to the one at the "Damrak". It has superior taste, better service and you actually pay what it says you should pay on the menu.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Rip off, Freshness questionable

Nice and healthy food in Amsterdam - Edit

This restaurant is in a very strategic location near the dam square. It's not easy to find veg food there and we were glad to find this gem. Food is nice and healthy. A convenient choice for vegetarians at reasonable prices
