Many Vegan Options, so impressive

Various choices of Vegan menu to select and the taste is really really good, just full of flavour like the original Thai taste. This is a 10 out of 10 to be honest. The service from staffs was the best. Thank you very much.

Pros: Best service, Free Parking, Authentic Thai Taste

Lacking authenticity and flavour

Nice interior and attentive staff. There's a few ve options labelled in the menu. We thought the food quality was overrated and not worth the prices charged.

Yum

We had the vege set menu but explained we are both vegan, which was understood and not a problem. Food very tasty and enjoyable. The papapya/peanut salad was one of the favourite starters of a 5 meze platter; the choo chee tofu curry was our favourite main from a meze of 3 mains. All great! But if you are enjoying a dish then serve it all onto your own plate(s) because things got cleared away quickly! Most mains about £9 each. It was hard to book a table through the website, might be easier to ring.

Papaya salad now contains fish sauce but can be made without if you ask.

Awesome!

Service unbelievably friendly and helpful 😊😊 Alhough in a menu there was no vegan options a waitress asked me if I’m vegan and warned not to eat crackers 😊. My green curry was very tasty! They prepared for me medium hot cause per request 😊.

Cons: Dried tofu a bit too soft

Average

Lunch menu basic. Green Thai curry too salty and not really a Thai flavour.

Bad deal overall

Out of 4 people only 1 liked his food. Portions are on the small side and prices are high. Service is quite good and staff very friendly. One of us had stomach cramps the next morning.

Pros: Helpful staff

Cons: Expensive and tasteless food

Fantastic food and friendly staff

They have separate vegetarian a la carte and set menu and can make all their vegetarian dishes vegan on request (they seemed to be vegan generally anyway so it wasn’t like the meal was missing anything). We ordered the veg set menu and they were happy to make sure it was vegan.

I would thoroughly recommend the set menu. The amount of food was very generous and we really enjoyed most the dishes.

We weren’t as fond of the aubergine main dish but that’s just personal preferance. The choo chee curry was fantastic and I would thoroughly recommend it and the selection of starters all worked really well together.

The staff were very attentive and friendly.

I would give this 5 stars if happy cow let you give 5 stars to non fully vegan/vegetarian restaurants.

Authentic Thai dining

By far the best Thai restaurant in Newcastle. I have visited here a few times and on every occasion the food has been superb. Only vegetarian options are labelled on the menu so best to state you are vegan before ordering, which is what we do whenever we go. I would definitely recommend the sweetcorn fritters and vegetable tempura from the starters menu, which are absolutely delicious. The mushroom tom yum soup is amazing as well, bursting with flavour with a nice 'fiery kick' and is by far the best Thai soup I have eaten. On to the mains and you can't go wrong with the fried tofu in yellow curry or fried tofu in choo chee curry sauce. Again perfectly spiced and packed full of flavour. Price wise starters range from £7-8 and mains at £10-12, which coupled with a beautiful décor, location and friendly staff is value for money in my opinion. This is the definitely the place to visit if you fancy an authentic Thai dining experience.

Pros: Excellent tasty vegan dishes, Beautiful decor and views, Firendly staff

Cons: Make sure you state you are vegan

Fine Thai dining on the Tyne

This is a fine restaurant, it is perfectly situated with views of the Tyne and has a warm and inviting elegant interior. It has a great choice of veggie options which are or can be made vegan. We ordered tofu curries and were very satisfied with the quality and quantity.

Pros: good range of vegetarian options , lovely location and view views, good quality food

Thai Delights in Toon

Located on the periphery of the up and coming Stephenson Quarter based in the premises of the former Riverside Palace (Pink Palace) Chinese restaurant under the Metro bridge, this is a quite up market addition to the Newcastle veg friendly scene. I do love Thai food and my favourite dishes of deep fried sweetcorn cakes served with a sweet chilli sauce and a succulent green or red tofu curry are available here. Check their website to find a separate vegetarian menu which is predominantly almost exclusively vegan. There are at least 7 starters and 10 main courses all meat and dairy free. Just tell the staff you are vegan to ensure your freshly prepared meal is made without fish or oyster sauce. They do a 2 course lunch menu for £12.95 but rather bizarrely you'll actually save 50p if you order a starter and main course separately which is exactly what we did. I suggested they offer a cheaper vegetarian set meal option. Who knows? Get a window seat and enjoy views over the river and quayside. I'm sure we'll be back.

Pros: excellent vegan choice, nice location, friendly staff

Cons: meat is available, wine could be labelled vegan
