Separate Vegan Menu - Edit
Went here based on old reviews and were disappointed to find it an Omni place. However, when we asked we were provided the old Aamber menu and were pleased to have so many vegan options. The tofu tikka masala was a bit sweet, but the bartha was fabulous. Nice service, too.

I’m staying in Upper West End and as always rely on Happy Cow for guidance. Manhattan Valley is 5 Star delicious! Cannot wait to eat my leftover…!

Super flavorful! - Edit
The Indian food here at Amber is super flavorful! So tasty and satisfying! The Vegetable Biryani was spicy!! My favorite was the Tofu Tikka Masala with Garlic Roti!! The Tikka Masala was savory and sweet at the same time. I’ll be back again. Like others have mentioned, there is a separate Vegan menu.

Not a separate restaurant - Edit
Just a sub-section of the menu within another Indian restaurant serving non-vegan dishes. Not clear if they have a separate kitchen

Delish! - Edit
I saw the reviews about people having trouble finding the menu but it popped up for me on Seamless with no issues just by searching vegan and my neighborhood. I thought the food was well seasoned and tasty. Delivered on time and good portion sizes.

This is a very strange place. You call and the guy pretends not to hear. - Edit
Try speaking calmly when they pick up the phone and let people respond.

Hidden Gem on the Upper West Side - Edit
Aamber is an all vegan menu INSIDE a mainstream Indian restaurant called Manhattan Valley. There's no sign outside saying Aamber, but it's worth the search to find this place. You can eat in or takeout. Try the Chole (chickpeas), Chana Alu (chickpeas & potatoes), Tofu Tikka Masala, and more. Almost everything on the menu is either already gluten free or has a gluten free option. Reasonable prices for the neighborhood. Staff are friendly, polite, and knowledgeable about veganism.

Cons: Not sure which if any items are organic

Delicious vegan Indian - Edit
A go-to spot for vegan Indian food. You can call or place an order online. It was initially a little confusing because the restaurant is within the Manhattan Valley restaurant as they operate out of there but have a separate kitchen (from what I was told). Haven’t eaten inside yet but interior looks nice.
Read moreOnly complaint is that I haven’t quite figured out the rice. Seems inconsistent as to the amount you get. For example, I’ve ordered two entree’s and received one container of rice which isn’t enough. I’ve also ordered one extra container (for two entree’s) of rice and have received three containers, which is too much.
Pros: Good variety of options to choose from, Very flavorful
Cons: Restaurant setup can be confusing to new-comers, Rice portions inconsistent for delivery/takeout

Aamber is a vegan menu offered in an Omni restaurant - Edit
The restaurant is Manhattan Valley. The Aamber menu isn’t posted anywhere. I had to ask if they have a vegan menu. The food was fresh and tasty and the portions generous.

Doesn't exist?? - Edit
Called the number on their website on Friday to ask if they had outdoor seating. They confirmed they did, and that they were vegan. Went to the address on the website on Saturday (last night), and found no restaurant by this name but there was an Indian place called Manhattan Village Indian food at this address. Asked a waiter if they served vegan food-he said no. While standing outside the restaurant, called the number on the website again and was told we were at the right address. When I said we were at that address but the restaurant had a different name, no explanation was provided. When I asked if they had vegan food, the person answering the phone said yes. At this point we were confused (and annoyed) so we left. If Aamber exists, I would love to try it!

Great vegan Indian food - Edit
Incredible food. This would be delicious Indian food by any measure, but the fact that it's vegan is mind blowing. I have no idea how they made these dishes so creamy and buttery without cream and butter, but I'm just happy to have found it. Will definitely be ordering take out from here for a long time to come.
