This restaurant did not prepare my meal to be vegan and then gaslit me into thinking it was!

The box I received was entirely unlabeled.
I know that faux meat is becoming more & more advanced, but the pep smelled and tasted exactly what I remember real meat being like.
It was disgusting.
I went on their website and the pepperoni I received looked exactly like the one they are using in advertising that I assume is real meat. By this time, my meal was cold because I’ve spent an hour trying to determine if I can eat it. We called in to the restaurant and were assured that the pizza was made with vegan pepperoni and basil. However, the basil never made it onto my pizza so that comment kind of concerned me that no one actually checked.
I’ve been vegetarian for like 20 years, my body does not produce the enzymes to digest meat. Never in my 20 years has someone served me meat and then denied it and assured me I could eat my meal.
While the owner, who is vegan, apologized and refunded my order, I am traumatized from how this dining experience transpired.

Addictive Deep Dish Pizza - Edit
I'm an East Coast girl until recently. I always liked traditional NY pies until I tried the deep dish pizza at Mangiami. It's totally addicting. I had it with garlic confit. It comes with eight slices. Two per person is more than enough which is great because left overs! This place used to be a totally vegan place so it was sad when it closed and reopened as Mangiami. The management does seem to try to be very vegan-friendly because a good majority of the dishes are either vegan, vegetarian, or vegan optional. Oh, and if that's not enough, they place usually has live music. Last time I went it was an acoustic singer/guitarist who was really good.
