After seeing the mushroom bao at a few vegan pop-ups in San Diego, we finally got to try them. They were really good. I loved the fluffy bao with the sauce and crispy mushrooms—delicious. Even my boyfriend, who doesn't like mushrooms, thought they were tasty. However, if you’re looking for a strong mushroom flavor or fresh veggie moment, this dish is not for you, as the mushrooms are very fried. We also tried the cucumber apple lemonade, and it was great. The person working was very kind, and the food came out fast.

Great musubi and bao - Edit
Love the food here at Maneatingplant. Check their insta page to know about their location on a particular day. Their bao tastes awesome and so are their musubis. Love their dumplings too.

Hard to Find and Mediocre Flavor - Edit
I searched high and low to find their food truck on several occasions over two years. When I finally found them, I tried the mushroom bao as it looked so amazing only to have the mushroom have little to no flavor. They definitely have their PR and marketing down though.

They probably have stuff that tastes amazing, but I only had the musubi - OK finish and a bit too sweet. The other dishes looked more interesting, but I'd already eaten too much at the festival to try.

All about the vegan musubi… - Edit
One of the few things I miss from my pre-vegan days is spam musubi. Thank God for MANEATINGPLANT because their vegan musubi is the perfect remedy. It hits all the taste and texture from what I remember spam musubi being like. I believe they use Omni meat for their “spam” which is incredible. I have tried their Fried Shroom Bao and Garlic Noods in the past which are also excellent. I will always pick up food from them whenever I see their truck.
