The House Wins - Edit
Illam, which means ancestral home, is a very evocative name, and it served to conjure up images of delicious, authentic flavours and, in turn, some quite hefty expectations in my mind. What I got smacked of all this, and more. The staples, such as the dosa and pooris, were absolutely on point, and the desserts were exactly what they should have been both in taste and consistency. Ultimately, while everything was superb, my favourite dish of the meal was something that I had never had the pleasure of sampling before: the poriyal. With its hum of spice and its variety of texture, it was an absolute pleasure and I will hunt it out again.

Our go to place for a perfect South Indian lunch/dinner. You want a full meal or just some light bites they have all covered. Love the fact that they always serve freshly ground chutney. Good quality meal, safe on the stomach

Down to earth & good value - Edit
Don't expect anything fancy here - this is a down to earth place with a home-cooking feel. I ate here a couple of times and also ordered delivery once. I liked the food and it hit the spot. I'm not the biggest fan of South Indian breakfast offerings, but I liked the thali and for 18 Dirham for an unlimited special thali the place is great value for money.
