Gf and vegan sandwiches - Edit

I agree with the other comment that the sandwich filling isn't even through the whole sandwich. The bread is also super thin and the filling is a wee bit of hummus, relish, a slice of avocado and a whole heap of alfalfa This is my emergency stop if I have no other options.
They do have a few vegan cakes and gf slices.

Pros: Gluten free AND vegan option, Salad based, Wrapped so it doesn't touch meat sandwic

Cons: Small, Thin bread, Filling is mostly alfalfa

Mamata Bakery - Edit

Thought I better warn you...Bought a vegetarian sandwich today. Looking at the FRONT it appeared full of avo, tomato, sprouts, hummus - but what they had done was only put the fillings in one end. It was like half a sandwich. There were only things on one side of the bread - the display side that you saw. When you got it home you found the other side of it had no filling at all - only bread. a wedge shaped sandwich.
This is premeditated dishonesty. It cannot be excused or explained away.

Pros: They don't have amonopoly

Cons: Cheating rip-off wankers

Mmm pie - Edit

A great little cafe/bakery where I regularly whip in and grab a vegan lentil and potato-top pie from the warm pie oven and the vegan gluten-free chocolate cake for later - so good. Be in quick as the vegan items are popular and often sell out. If you do miss out, never fear, as Harvest Wholefoods is right next door and will happily accommodate your growling tummy with plenty of vegan options.

Great Bakery! - Edit

A great value for money bakery with delicious fresh baked goods. Really yummy vegan chocolate cake (also gluten free) and vegan sandwiches made every day. A wide range of bagels (vegan) baked every day, including blueberry and wholemeal/spelt bagels, and other sweet things like muffins and muesli slice. A range of yummy savoury vegan and vegetarian pies, and they serve good coffee, including soy and rice milk options. Can eat in as well as takeaway, a very casual place. It is a really popular place, and stuff like pies, sandwiches/rolls and popular bagel flavours can sell out. It is not fully vegetarian, and has quite a lot of meat/fish options, but they take their vegetarian/vegan , dairy-free and gluten-free food options seriously, so possibility of cross contamination is low. Very cheap food, but delicious. Next door to Harvest Wholefoods organic store, and down the road from The Little Grocer (both with lots of vegan foods for sale. Not open Sundays, open from 7-7:30am till 4pm Mon-Sat.

Pros: Delicious food, Inexpensive, Fast, friendly service

Cons: Often busy, Good stuff can sell out early, Not a fancy cafe (not really a con)
