Excellent choices and quality - Edit
Mama’s Egg House has a vegan menu with several choices. My husband and I had two of them and both were a lot of food with excellent quality. They are cooked to order, so you can leave out items if you don’t want them. Our non-vegan friends said the items they ordered were excellent also.

Don't even think about having eggs here! The vegan eggs are so good I saw a few chickens giving the owners high fives! I recommend the breakfast bowls! Even a full grown dinosaur would wolf this down

We moved from Idyllwild after 24-years back in 2019. Didn’t remember this great vegan menu. Large portions and really tasty.
Read moreHours on website are incorrect. Per server, they’re open every day except for Wednesday. They are, according to their website, going to be offering dinner soon. Not sure if that too is incorrect.

We stopped in around 2pm so I chose the vegan potato tacos. They were crispy and stuffed with delicious potatoes, vegan cheese and sour cream on the side. The pico was very good too. My son had the vegan breakfast burrito and he said it was really great. Both were huge portions that we couldn’t finish even though we wanted to because it was so good. Will definitely come back.

Impressive vegan menu - Edit
They have an extensive vegan menu. I ordered the vegan breakfast burrito which comes with veggies, cheese, potatoes, sausage, and eggs. At first I was put off with the $20 price, but then I received the burrito, and it was bigger than my head. It could easily be split between two people. It was so yummy and filling, and I enjoyed the hot sauce they had on the table and the salsa they brought with it. Love seeing all the stellar vegan options in this town. Another hit out of the ballpark.

Dedicated Vegan Menu - Edit
This has to be by far my favorite restaurant to go to in Idyllwild because one, they have a dedicated menu for vegan options only, and second, their options are delicious. I've been to other local restaurants in the area, and it wouldn't really hit the spot, but this one did. I can't wait to try their other items in the future.

Idyllwild is one of my favorite spots to visit on the weekend. Fortunately, they have a restaurant that offers a pretty decent vegan menu!
Read moreI’ve tried the breakfast bowl and the potato tacos, both of which were good. The potato tacos are really unique, and I’m a big fan of them.
The outdoor patio area is lovely when the weather is cool out. There are a lot of flies, but they’ve started providing tables with a lil fly deterrent so it’s not really an issue anymore!

Why does a place with “Egg” in the name have the best vegan options in Idyllwild??? - Edit
The Vegan Chilaquiles was the best meal I had in my short stay in Idyllwild! You order at the counter, they give you a number, and then bring the food out to you. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. I had a dog with me and was able to find a space out on the patio. They have a wide array of drinks from coffee/espressos to beer and wine. I went during lunch on a Thursday but it did look like they have a small bar that probably opens for cocktails on the weekends (or maybe just by request). There’s a separate vegan menu which had plenty of options. Wish I had gone here first rather than on my last day!

Separate section for vegan options, the huevos rancheros was delicious, we tried one of the burritos and it was okay. I’m not a huge fan of some of the vegan cheeses and there was A LOT in the burrito.

Great Vegan Breakfast Stop - Edit
What a special treat it was to find a breakfast place with delicious food for both vegans and non-vegans with them! They offer a special menu for vegans with a great selection. My vegan chorizo burrito was stuffed with goodness and my husband loved his traditional bacon and poached egg dish. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Idllywild just so we can visit Mama’s Egg House again!

Best vegan breakfast in town - Edit
I was really impressed by their vegan menu, we got the soyrizo "egg" breakfast burrito and chilaquiles. I would love to go back to try some of their other options! They even had dairy free cheese and sour cream. This is the best place in town for breakfast. It's also very dog friendly.

Great Vegan options - Edit
I would have never entered a restaurant called “ Mama’s Egg house” if my husband hadn’t seen the sign on the sidewalk that said “ Vegan Menu”. Everything we’ve had so far is excellent! We are looking forward to the dog friendly patio reopening when Covid restrictions are lifted. Till then, we are loving the “ To Go” vegan menu.
