Read moreThey offer an assortment of dishes from noodle plates, rice plates, soups, and dumplings. The menu is posted in the wall in Chinese and there the family that operates this restaurant primarily speaks Chinese so prepare to use technology to look at the menu.
I opted for the noodle bento box which came with a ginger broth soup. All of the flavors in the noodle plate were outstanding. There are bits of ginger in there which was overwhelming but pleasing for the palette. They put a good amount of tofu and Yuba in the plate so it is filling.

Very nice elderly couple running the small shop. The man spoke passable English and the for $3.15 US you can get a heaping plate.

Mama Lai was the first meal of my whirlwind Taiwan trip. Very sweet family running the small eatery. No English knowledge, but a local helped me order the day’s special. Very cheap in USD and tasty! I would return on a longer stay in Taipei

At £2.50 you can't complain. Probably one of the most "authentic" food experiences you can have in Taipei while knowing you're getting a fully vegan meal.

Lovely eatery with cheap dishes. The owners were really friendly. The man helped me to translate the Chinese menu and I had the Angelica soup and noodles with tofu. The food is not very oily and salty which is great because it makes it perfect for a very healthy lunch. Personally, I would have enjoyed a tad more spices.

This long established traditional local family shop is not fancy. Super friendly owners. Owner mama is aging and enjoys serving food to people. She says it gets her going.
