Disappointing
The food was overpriced and they were out of a lot of options on their menu, it was disappointing

thank you for your feedback…. We understand that everyone has different views on pricing, but we set our menu based on the quality of our ingredients, our labor, and what it takes to run a small business—those decisions aren’t made lightly. Especially in the vegan ingredients!
As for item availability, we make everything in small, fresh batches daily, and many of our popular items do sell out quickly. We always recommend ordering ahead online to guarantee your favorites. Not every customer is for our business, and not every business is for every customer — and that’s okay. At Mama Chea Café, we stand by our pricing, quality, and values, and we welcome those who align with them.

I’m never listening to y’all’s recommendations again - Edit
I really had high hopes for this place based on what I’m reading and the food isn’t exactly cheap so it’s incredibly disappointing that nothing I had was particularly good. I ordered from the woman in the picture, who I presume is Chef Nikki, but she couldn’t answer any of my questions about what people liked from her restaurant. I literally KEPT looking back and forth between her and the poster because maybe I’m tripping. But nah. I wasn’t.
Read moreThe banana bread with house made pistachio butter was good in concept only. The banana bread was dry and had the essence of nail polish, and the texture of the pistachio butter was chalky, which is a horrible complement to dry bread.
The tuna salad was ok, but it was tangy rather than creamy (which I wasn’t expecting since I saw they have a house mayo) and the side salad was just a massive bed of Kale and Spinach with cherry tomatoes. That’s it.
The cheesy walnut empanada…. I mean, if that’s your thing, go ahead but it just was NOT for me.

Regarding pricing, everyone has different financial circumstances, and we respect that. Our prices are aligned with the quality, freshness, and originality of our 100% vegan offerings—and are competitive within the plant-based restaurant industry. It’s okay to agree to disagree, and we accept that not every customer will be a fit for our café.

Hi. The mention of the poster was relevant because that’s who I was speaking to. It’s relevant because if I was in fact speaking to THE CHEF, it seems incomprehensible to me that she couldn’t answer my questions about what was popular and what people liked at this restaurant. The poster is relevant because this woman is a representation of the restaurant, not only by virtue of her literal picture being on the wall, but also the service she provides, which was lackluster. You are understandably defensive of your team and staff, but this was an observation, not an attack.
Read moreI couldn’t address my concerns at the restaurant because I don’t live locally, and visited this establishment in my travels at the recommendation of my peers on this app. While nothing I said was false (as I’m simply recounting the facts of my experience with the food and the service) , it was absolutely not, nor is it ever, my intent to be hurtful. Customer service and food quality are very important to me and both were sorely lacking at your establishment.
