Eating here is more of an experience than a meal. There’s live music (which you have to pay a mandatory surcharge), we had our faces painted and had a meal. The food was ok, but nothing more

Great vegan menu options. Spoiled by hopeless staff. Be careful! - Edit
Eat here at your own risk!! We clearly stated we were vegan, ordered 2 vegan meals, and they then brought beef stew to our table, some of which we ate (the first time for 30yrs). On questioning the staff, they said ‘yes, it’s beef’. The manager was apathetic and clearly didn’t understand the gravity of the carelessness and disorganisation of the place. The food, which they brought just as we were walking out, looked good, but check and double check if you’re going to eat here!

This is an amazing restaurant to check out to get the full cultural experience and to try out authentic African cuisine from various African countries. They have live music, it's beautifully decorated, and the staff members were dressed lovely. There are three vegan meals, one vegan starter, and a few vegan friendly sides. I tried the Mama Africa Pap Chips and Mama Africa Vegan Stew. Both were yummy. If they add a few more vegan options to the menu then they will be solid!

Need improvement for veggies - Edit
The restaurant is amazing for meat eaters, but I felt my meal too simple. Perhaps, the vegetarian and African food could be more explored there. I have good experiences with Congolese and Ethiopian food. I hope to return to a more veg friendly CT!

A very good client of mine visited Mama Africa for the first time last week. He was very pleased with the vegan dish served by our restaurant. He said he had been looking for an African restaurant serving vegan African dishes but he couldn't one listed on this platform.
