Lovely but Lacking Attention to Dietary Restrictions - Edit
Good location and cafe gets a lovely amount of sun. The cafe gets quite busy, and it’s hard to get a seat.
Read moreAlmond and oat milk are offered. Cappuccino and matcha were delicious. $13 for a piece of toast with eggplant caponata (vegan) seems overpriced to me. The caponata was delicate, and the bread had a firm crust with a classic sourdough texture inside.
I clearly ordered the green garbanzo hummus (vegan), the woman at the cash register pointed out that it’s a sandwich (as per the menu), and I said that was fine. I double-checked with her that both savory dishes were vegan and expressed gratitude for their vegan options. When the food came out, I saw that one was a sandwich and never even thought about it until after, when I read the receipt and went back to the menu. We were charged for and served the Mediterranean Eggplant Focaccia (vegetarian), not the Green Garbanzo Hummus. I wish I had realized the mistake when the food was served. I did order correctly. Please be aware that following customers' diets is important.

Great homemade goods - Edit
They have a small selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Daily they offer a rotating vegan loaf cake. The menu changes with the seasons. Normally there’s something in the fridge case for plant based folks. They source ingredients locally and always have baked bread available. Coffee is good too with oat milk!

Great Vegan Options - Edit
I do wish the Buttery had more vegan options, but what they do have is delicious! I found 2 mini cakes among their pastry options - chocolate and carrot ginger - and they were both absolutely delicious.
