My favourite local lunch and breakfast spot - Edit

This place is wonderful, the food is always excellent and the menu filled with interesting combinations of ingredients/flavours which work so we’ll. the best and most filling salads I think I’ve ever had :) breakfast is also amazing.
My fav place for a veggie treat too as the cakes are sooo good

Pros: Amazing salads, Yummy cake, Friendly and comfortable place

Cons: Quite warm inside but that’s not necessarily bad!

Nearly converted... - Edit

I'm a swithering non-vegetarian. MalaCarne pushes me closer to taking the plunge than anything else ever has.

The avocado on toast is a classic staple that always delights, their panzanella salad is outrageous and their coffee (with cow's milk and several plant-based milks available) is always very, very nice.

That is to say nothing of their daily specials, soups and baked goods. I live round the corner and my bank balance is testamount to how often I go here...

Oh. And the staff (especially the owner Claire) are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Bonus.

Pros: Coffee (excellent and good value), Staff, Outrageously good food

Fabulously Delicious and Addictive - Edit

The breakfast of scrambled tofu and avocado is utterly delicious and consistently brilliant. I've lost count the number of times I've had this breakfast choice.

I'd recommend the tofu club sandwich for lunch or the day's special.

The cakes are too good to leave behind. I've tried and failed on numerous occasions to avoid the temptation. Malacarne's vegan brownies are heaven sent (just ask my hips).

Pros: Excellent food, Very friendly staff, Great value for money

Cons: Limited number of tables (but does do take out)

Welcoming place, yummy food - Edit

I love the variety of fresh food at Mala Carne! We often come here for brunch during the weekend, or to pick up a few cakes! Ita nice to have such a variety of vegan cakes to choose from! The food is really creative - my favourite dish is probably the tofu scramble, followed by the smoked carrot bagel!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Dog-friendly, Relaxed atmosphere

Vegan food heaven - Edit

I've been to Malacarne a few times now and each time has been a joy. Everything I have tried on the menu so far has been delicious. The vegan breakfast with scrambled tofu is wonderful and the portion sizes are generous. There's fresh cakes made on the premises, they look great. Lovely fresh coffee from dear green i think and plant milks to chose from. It's a small cafe with friendly knowledgeable staff and really worth a visit. It can be busy being so small but I've always managed to get a seat. Also an added bonus for us is that dogs are welcome .

Pros: Many vegan options, Fresh, exciting food, Friendly staff

Cons: None

Incredible! - Edit

I had the joy of stopping by Mala Carne for lunch and was blown away by their vegan socca bread - so many innovative flavours combined for a true culinary treat. From minty crushed peas to zesty lemon drenched cauli and chilli roasted zuchinni. Highly recommend!!

A really beautiful spot with homely decor and beautiful ceramics. Will definitely be back on my next visit to Glasgow!

Small cafe and another addition to the southside. All day veggie and vegan breakfast it would appear. Certainly on a Sunday. Nice and friendly. Not the cheapest but not overly expensive. Just newly opened so I expect it'll get even better. Nice tea too!

Pros: friendly , Nice tea , cakes too

Cons: small so limited space. Maybe 20 ish

Was there once for lunch and once for breakfast now and it's definitely going to be one of my favourite options in the area. In addition to breakfast and lunch they have also got a choice of vegan cakes. Very good coffee and the staff is lovely too.
