Hairy Cupcakes - Edit
Edit: i really want to love this place!
Read moretoday as we were looking through the selections in the case i noticed a long reddish-brown hair on several of the gluten-free carrot-cake cupcakes
i mentioned it to the young lady behind the counter & she looked & saw it & took the whole tray out & set it on the table behind the counter
the person with me commented (to me only)
that noone was wearing hair nets & there were a couple people with long hair
today was my third time here & each time i've gone the staff has just not been very friendly or even nice.
it feels almost like they're irritated that we're even there
(i've taken different people with me each time i've gone)
there is also a 'service charge' with purchases
Better Customer Service & Sanitary Practices would be much appreciated❣️
I appreciate ALL Vegan Businesses
but being vegan isn't the only thing that makes a place great
They do have a good selection of vegan goodies.
The Vanilla Soft Serve Ice Cream is Really Delicious!
one of the best soft serves i've ever had!
Super Creamy! Amazing Consistency!
Delicious Flavor!

Pros: All Vegan, Amazing Soft Serve, Decent Selection of Quality Goodies
Cons: staff could be more friendly, tiny space/no seating/waiting in line outside, slightly pricey PLUS a 'service charge'

*UPDATE*
Read more****Just found out that they NO LONGER have their shop- they are now selling their treats at City O City & Watercourse ONLY. (They still have a very big selection, they just don’t have their own shop anymore). ****
This place is so cool- they change out the baked goods daily and constantly have new flavors. Right by multiple art museums and shops. So much to choose from, and it’s a great local bakery!!

LOVE - Edit
They have so many options from pastries to ice cream. It was too cold when I went so I only got a cupcake, but it was definitely the most delicious cupcake I have ever tasted. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Bakery and ice cream - Edit
As I walked by I saw people eating ice cream and they were really enjoying it. I asked where it came from and they pointed me to Make, Believe bakery. I couldn’t believe it was vegan! Everything there. Check out their Hostess Cupcake like dessert.

Cute little shop - Edit
The treats are delicious, and this Bakery is certainly worth going too.
Read moreThat said... The service charge is ridiculous, their is a 20% service fee that goes to everyone working (including boh) to 'pay a living wage.' I'm all for fair pay, but this encourages people to tip less and makes everything on the menu look cheaper than it actually is. Please just raise all your prices and increase your employees wages. This current system is predatory to customers and employees.

Used to Be Better - Edit
After the last few visits to Make, Believe I felt like I had to come update my review. I used to love them, but they've gotten rid of my personal favorites (it happens, but it's such a bummer) and their stuff seems to be cloyingly sweet these days. On top of that, what used to be wonderfully service seems to be reluctant at best these days.
Read moreMy biggest issue is their outrageous service charge. I waited tables and have done counter service and I tip well, but I'm not digging the idea that you want me to pay your back-of-house and management staff as well - and then you put out a tip jar. Get it together, please.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. It's a small store-front staffed with some of the loveliest folks in town. Selections dwindle as the day goes on but there is generally a great selection of regular and gluten-free options and it's all VEGAN!
It's one of my go-to bakeries in town for ordering birthday cakes, too, and vegans and omnivores alike love them.
My favorites are the chocolate peanut butter bars and the Boston cream pie. Don't skip this place if you're visiting Denver.

Funfetti wizard...mmmm - Edit
I've never had anything bad from here and even my non-vegan friends like it. I crave the funfetti wizard basically all the time. I think the Oat milk soft serve is great.

Preferred the soy ice soft serves - Edit
I think the soy soft serves were creamier before the way transitioned to oat. The have an ok variety, wish they would release new creations more often.

Great Vegan Deserts - Edit
They have a delicious soft serve ice cream that pairs well with their mix-ins. The cookie dough in the wizard was great (and they definitely did not skimp). All of the baked goods I tried were good, and they looked nice as well. The brownies were fun and brought back memories. The Whoopie Pie was a little rich for me, but still a fun treat. I had to wait in a little bit of a line to get in right as they opened, but it was definitely worth it.

Best brownies! - Edit
Make Believe is a wonderful 100% vegan bakery. They have a lot of options, and they rotate different flavors for their cupcakes. Their brownies are the best and I’ve been known to make a special trip just for their brownies. I love their cupcakes, although sometimes they can be a little too sweet. They have soft serve as well and that’s a must, especially when you can add toppings. My husband and I went through them for our wedding cake and it was fabulous! They have a separate Gluten Free side of the bakery that is also delicious.

Best creamee in a long time! - Edit
The soft serve, classic chocolate and vanilla twist, with oat milk base, was unbelievably delicious. Rearranging my trip to get back there before leaving Denver. I come from Vermont where getting one of these cones is a huge tradition, and this is the best one I’ve had since going vegan seven years ago. I also got the Hoho cupcake, which they are known for, but it was way too rich for me. I beg to differ with the comment below regarding the service charge. It was very transparent and progressive and all about a living wage campaign.

Sneaky Service Charge - Edit
My partner and I were interested in the Peanut Butter Cup Blended Wizard, but we didn't want plastic cups, so we chose chocolate soft serve in small cake cones instead. It cost $7.68. I added a $2 tip. After we left, my partner mentioned there was a service charge. Per their website:
Read more"All orders have a 20% service fee that goes directly to staff. We appreciate your support!
The service fee is split 68% goes to bread and production teams, 5% to counter staff and 27% to managers.
All credit card tips are shared among counter staff."
I don't agree with a default tip, especially when they ask for another tip on top of that! I think that's kind of deceptive. I admit I overlooked the sign, but I still don't think it's right. Otherwise, the soft serve was good.
Pros: all vegan
Cons: service charge

Wizard, much better than a Blizzard - Edit
Make, Believe Bakery was recommended to us by our server at City O City last week. My wife and I went to replicate my former favorite warm day treat, a blizzard from Dairy Queen. We ordered a Wizard with vanilla and chocolate ice cream with cookie dough, brownies, and peanut butter cups. We were a bit shocked by the cost, around $15-$17 dollars, but It was AMAZING. Hands down the best vegan ice cream I’ve ever had and it was much better than Dairy Queen. Plus it was huge, my wife and I couldn’t finish it.

In Love - Edit
I love this bakery. And they've switched to an oat milk base for their soft serve so I love it even more. I switch up between the soft serve in a cup or a wizard. I love that you can get gluten-free brownies in your sundae or wizard. All the possible toppings, flavors, and combinations really make this a dream come true for vegans with a sweet tooth. Their caramel is the best I've ever had. I keep asking if they'll sell it by the bottle. The current answer is no, but I hope that'll change. I need this caramel in my cupboard!

Sweet - Edit
Cute little bakery in between a vegan restaurant, plant shop, and zero waste store! Fun and arty vibes and decor, the staff was super friendly, and they had vegan and gluten free options. Got a mini lavender cupcake, a hoho cupcake, and take and bake cookie dough. The hoho cupcake was rich and delicious. The cookies were soft and yummy. Great flavors and prices.
