CLOSED: Magic Milk Bar

I went to the Magic Milk Bar on a friend's recommendation this weekend and loved it. The food was delicious, healthy, and so obviously made with love and care. The scrambled tofu was one of the best I've had, and the banana split is absolutely to-die-for!

More than just the food was the people and the atmosphere. After making our meal, Missy, the cook sat down and ate with us and the other customers - I ended up staying for over two hours on a Saturday afternoon!

I had never been to Joe's Organics but when I saw there was a vegan cafe opening there I had to go and check it out. It's located in the little shopping village in Victoria Street near Dennis station. The menu is not extensive and is about 50 per per cent raw. I came in around lunchtime and ended up ordering the potato for around $15, as the other option was a raw pasta dish, and zucchini spaghetti is not my idea of delicious. I saw a breakfast item - the banana 'nice cream' with fruit and chocolate syrup - that took my fancy for dessert and while the menu specified a cut-off time for breakfast I confirmed with a friendly staff member that these were flexible.
There are a few outdoor tables and limited indoor seating but there was plenty of room. Fresh juices are available and my partner chose a large orange, lemon and ginger one for around $7. My salad was fresh and minty if a little sweet and I was full afterwards and didn't end up getting dessert but that leaves something for next time, perhaps with an organic fairtrade coffee.

Magic Milk Bar made my birthday cake this year! It was the best chocolate cake I've ever had! It was raw, vegan, it was sweet and creamy!! Highly recommend using Magic Milk Bar for any of your rrcatering needs (: The French toast served on the weekends is crunchy & delicious and comes with banana nicecream!

Nestled in a cute little organic market, come and have a brilliantly made organic meal, then get your week's fruit and veg!

We had the potato salad which was creamy and delicious, and the banana and berry nicecream, healthy and delicious!

Great range of interesting vegan meals.. Wonderful raw cakes to follow up . Only 100% organic vegan place I know of in Melbourne. Very reasonably priced for organic fare.
Picked up some groceries from Joe when I was there, too :)
