Good vegan croissants - Edit
Found this place for a quick brekkie and a cuppa. Really pleased I did. I stocked up on a couple of croissants and they were so delicious. Good job I did as the city itself is not so vegan friendly. So handy to have snacks on me. Highly recommend it.

Perfect - Edit
Great pasta and quesadilla. Gets crowded very quickly but that's a good sign, isn't it. Place is very spacious though! Prices are very okay, as well as the portions. Staff is always friendly and toilets are clean and modern. Loved it!

Well priced, nice place to hang out for some time. Coffee is really good, the pasta pesto with olives was amazing and the bagels are so tasty. Loved it.

Nice place, no choise - Edit
Nice place, big but not so many things to eat. Pasta seems like good, but I'm italian, so I choose the quesadilla and it wasn't really good.

Simple, tasty pasta - Edit
My boyfriend was after the quesadilla but it wasn’t available, so we both had pasta. They had 4 sauces to choose from, I decided on sundried tomato pesto and he had cheesy cashew cream. Mine was nice but maybe a little dry, his was delicious though. So I’d recommend the cashew cream one.

Yummy - Edit
Saw this on happycow and put it on our to-try list. Two us of shared a classic pasta dish, a spicy pasta, a bowl of salad, and a raw cakes slice. Everything was yummy. The pasta tasted really fresh. Nice place.

Tasty but not all vegan - Edit
We've tried the vegan quesadilla which was very yummy and filling, however the devoured brownie turned out to be not-so-vegan later on. Everything that's vegan is labeled though but the place itself should be labeled accordingly. The main dishes are all vegan. The place has a nice atmosphere due to it's inspiration from Sri Chinmoy, it's suitable for meetings or work. I'm sure their coffees and pastas are first class as well. 😄

Dear László,
Read moreThank you for your kind words. It is really great that you tried the quesadilla. Madal Food and Madal Cafe are two separate entities. That is why you have to pay separately for the coffee, tea and desserts, sandwiches.
Madal Food is completely vegan, all the pastas and quesadillas are vegan. While the Cafe part offers vegetarian offers, and there you can find vegan desserts also. So Madal Cafe is claiming it is vegetarian with vegan options. The two businesses shares the place and open space, due to customers pleasure, so they can sit down wherever they prefer. Thank you for your feedback, wish you a great smiling day?

Madal - Edit
I tried the pasta with carrot and ginger sauce, and it was ok and filling, cheap only 1900HUF for normal portion, but nothing special, although my other friends really enjoyed the other flavoured pasta. The carrot cake was ok but the coffee was really good.

Amazing Pasta - Edit
This vegan pasta was so delicious! I went twice. The first time I got a classic pasta with tomato sauce. The second, I got a pasta with a cheesy sauce. They were both so amazing, I'm sad I don't live in Budapest and can't go back constantly! The atmosphere is also really cute.

Good Vegan Pasta - Edit
This place is a pasta bar on one side and a cafe on the other side. The pasta is fresh but entirely vegan which is a nice thing to come across. We ordered the arrabbiata and the carbonara pasta which were both excellent. Since Hungarians like their spicy paprika, the arrabbiata sauce actually was spicy, unlike in many other places. We also went for the extra cheese which we were offered, but I ended up regretting that choice as they really added a lot. My partner was perfectly happy, however, so it's really up to personal preference.

The place is full of students studying and working on their papers, and it's really close to the Parliament.
Pros: Pasta is fresh, Extremely central location
Cons: Not actually entirely vegan (the cakes/cookies)

Beautiful food and friendly staff - Edit
Really lovely selection of food! The food is really nice. One side is the coffee bar, for drinks, cakes etc. The other side is the pasta bar. They change the pasta dishes daily. There’s usually about 4 to choose from with different size plates. Prices very good. Really lovely place been here a good few times while in Budapest

Nice Pasta - Edit
I visited here with a non-vegan and it was okay but I'm not sure that it is anything special. The portions are quite big and well worth the price but I just wasn't a fan of the Rose sauce that we chose. They did have pesto but they had just run out and I think we would have preferred that. Nice enough but not worth going out the way for.

The pasta was super delicious and the portions quite big. The staff were extremely friendly, and even though their English was very basic, they were very patient and smiled all the time. The desserts were delicious too! I would definitely visit again!

The food is amazing. I got the frommagio pasta (excuse the spelling) -- so creamy and wonderful, and so cheap! The atmosphere is also really great, I didn't know if it was a place you can sit at by yourself without feeling weird, but it is. Will definitely go back.

Delicious Pasta - Edit
I went to Madam Food looking for a quick pick me up, like a baguet of some sort. However I am glad they had run out as it have gave me the opportunity to taste their pasta carbonara. Although the normal portion was enough to fill me up I craved more. The restaurant has lovely modern decor, with a friendly atmosphere and helpful staff.
